Agree! My Mother was a teacher, Spanish and Distributive Education, kind of Vocational Class. When one of her students would not show, she would get someone to watch her class and she would go to their homes, knock on the door or in some cases walk right in and wake their butts up and march them to school. Her students loved her. They all came dressed in suit and tie to her funeral. I can also remember our Football coach with a long paddle with holes, he would call the misfits out of class, in the hall way and WHAM about 4 or 5 times. We would all say SHHHHH. Wanted to hear any weeping. These were all High School Students. I say beat the crap out of them. I have ZERO tolerance for disrespect.

| I'm not a parent and may never be. Who knows. But if I did have kids and anybody laid a hand on them, I'd see them in court. ![]() Kids are out of control now, sure, but only spanked kids can learn to behave? Teaching is a hard job, but it is a chosen profession and it has been obvious that the behavior from students is getting worse. It's something that has to be dealt with calmly. Well, I don't think teachers should have to deal with it at all b/c it's the parents' job, but that's a whole 'nother thing. Bottom line is, we can assign it names like spanking, corporal punishment, etc., but it's hitting. So a child that hits somebody...what to do them to make them stop? Hit them while saying hitting is wrong??? No thanks.

I do not believe that you have to spank children to make them behave, I just think it is quicker an more affective. if you have a 2 year old, that insists on running into traffic in a parking lot, your hands are full, and he won't listen. You cannot wait until you get home to do "time out". A swat on the behind gets the point across. An instant correction is more affective, than a lecture and time out. Better to give a swat then to have them hit by a car.

| Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | I was spanked (or smacked as its called over here) when I was younger and it never did me any harm, in fact because of it I learned quickly what was the right and the wrong ways to behave.. and I knew what would happen if I acted in the wrong way. I dont believe in teachers spanking a child, only because they shouldnt HAVE to! It is a parents responsibility to teach that child how to behave at home AND at school and it shouldnt be left to the teacher.
