I just PM'd her that I'm willing to work remotely on her computer to try to fix the issue. She'll have to download a program and give me access. I'm not sure if she received the PM.

I haven't heard from her. I think she knows she has a virus and she's trying to fix it. I PM'd her but heard nothing.

It shows she's still online. Does the green light mean she's online, or that she's on YT?

I pm'd her again. I want her phone number so that I can check on her myself. Hopefully she'll read our pm's and contact one of us.

I've fixed many many things on my computer and others but this one is stubborn and in my memory

you have to be sooooo protected these days - I have a very good program I use now and one snuck by me recently and is in my memory - I've been going crazy trying to remove it - it's a bad one but I know how it happened and it was my own fault. I posted about it somewhere but man it sucks to have a messed up computer !

I'll fix it but my solution will probably have to be to back up everything to a hard drive which will take a long time with all the work I have accumalated over the years then re-format the whole computer - that's at least a day or 2 of work and I'm dreading it

Apparently I have a malware problem right now. Just happened today (I'm on my hubby's work computer right now). All my computer-literate cousin could tell me is that it looks like I'll need to take it in somewhere to get cleaned up. Is that true?? I'm pretty sure he knows how to do it because he started to say that it's pretty complicated and then just told me I should take it somewhere. He doesn't live here in town though or else I would make him come over and fix it!! I didn't even realize there was Malware protection (free) out there anywhere. I use AVG - the free version - and have never had any problems. That dang FACEBOOK probably gave me something! If anyone knows something that he's not sharing with me, please speak up!

I just got off the phone from Patti and she is still having big time problems with her computer. These bad sites keep showing up. She really needs to have the virus removed. I have a Mac so I'm not sure if these free programs will remove the virusus. When I had pc's I ended up having to pay to get all the virusus removed several times. I don't think she can even get back on YT right now.
