Help:Anti Virus Protection ????? Help Have been having nothing but problems with our computer wanted to know where to go to download off the internet for free anti virus protection for computers. Maybe I just need to get a new computer, but trying to avoid doing so. Having big time staying connected and it is sooooooooooo frustrating. Appreciate your input and any site that can download off the net free I appreciate. Thanks, Hugs, Patti and Jack and Girls. |
Hey Patti:) I've been using Avast for a few years now and have had NO viruses get through! I had Norton before that, and I always had problems, grr! Anyway, if you Google Avast, you'll find several places to download it for free. Also, if you want to do a quick scan online, TrendMicro has a free scanner;) |
Hi Patti! I asked the same thing recently. Here's the thread, it's full of great advice I received. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/off...-software.html |

I highly suggest this avast! Free Antivirus - Download Software for Virus Protection and Spybot - Search & Destroy Free Download and Reviews - Fileforum I would do the avast first and let it do a system scan. Do you currently have any anti virus software at all? i can help you through the process if you need. |

AVG is good too and free Spybot is GREAT and free - used it for years Malware Bytes is free and a big help too - you have to be sooooo protected these days - I have a very good program I use now and one snuck by me recently and is in my memory - I've been going crazy trying to remove it - it's a bad one but I know how it happened and it was my own fault. I posted about it somewhere but man it sucks to have a messed up computer ! I'll fix it but my solution will probably have to be to back up everything to a hard drive which will take a long time with all the work I have accumalated over the years then re-format the whole computer - that's at least a day or 2 of work and I'm dreading it |
