| Proactive users...my face is on fire!!! I ordered Proactive because I seem to keep a few bumps on my face in the same area. I started last Sat. by Tues. everytime I used it my face burned like a sunburn. So I backed down to once a day. Now, my face is as dry as sandpaper. I use the lotion they sent, but it only helps a little. I used it this morning, and I'm back to fire-face. DH says, "Oh that just means its working." If by working they intend to take off the entire top layer of my skin to prevent breakouts, then yea, its working. Anyone else use this? On a positive note, no breakouts and no more clogged pores. |

Benzoyl peroxide is very drying and can cause a pretty harsh allergic reaction. I use it as a topical when I see a spot of staph infection on Lady. One treatment usually one application dries it up. If she needs a second one, I have to wait 3 or 4 days. Any more and it will literally peel her skin off until it is raw. Proactiv Solution - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

| I use it. At first it does seem harsh on your skin until it adjusts to it and then it is fine. At least that is how is was with me. It took me awhile to get started because I hated it making my skin feel so dry and burned. If you can, get the green tea moisturizer, that helped me out a lot. I used this for awhile instead of the other moisturizer lotion they sent until I adjusted and then I was able to switch back to the one they sent. Like I said, it took me awhile for my skin to adjust to it but now I love it and it makes my skin so soft now. Oh and I believe they do have another system for sensitive skin that is suppose to be much gentler. You might want to try that instead. Good luck, I hope it starts improving for you!!

| Ouch! I have never tried ProActive. Try using some pure olive oil, extra virgin, cold pressed to soothe your skin. Olive oil is reportedly better than Neosporin for fighting bacteria and promoting healing. Some sources say the same thing about pure coconut oil. Having inherited oily skin, which is both a curse and a blessing, I struggled with the idea that drying out my skin with harsh cleansers was not the best way to keep pores clean. Drying out the skin causes irritation and the pores work overtime producing more sebum, causing more problems. I now use Burt's Bee's Wax Apricot Scrub to exfoliate and cleanse without drying out my face. Then I use olive oil on problem spots. I also have to be careful with shampoos and conditioners. Products like Garnier's Fructis will make me break out. |

| I use it, but I only use it once a day.(morning) I also aply an oil free moisterizer before putting on makeup because it dries out my skin as well.

Do you remember how long it took? I know each person will be different, but my face is SO dry. I did get a *very* small sample of the green tea moisturizer I used today and it did help. I just don't know how long I stretch that wee little tube.

I am hoping that was because my pores were clogged.

I hope your potion works great for you and you don't look like you get a chemical peal each time you use it.

| It's their oil-free moisturizer that my skin hates. It dries it out and makes it all rough and scaly. My skin does well with the other products. Actually, it is the only product that works for me. I've tried Wal-Mart's version of it and it was a disaster. I have a sister who is allergic to Benzoyl Peroxide. Makes her skin raw. Good luck with finding a solution. ~Joanne~

| I'm allergic to silicone and silica so I have to watch the labels on everything I use. Could you be allergic to something in it? |

| Be very careful with Proactiv, many people can't uses it becasue they are sensitive to BP. If you are not opposed to using Emu oil, it works wonders for adding moisture to the skin without causing breakouts and it is very soothing, I have oily but, dehydated skin and always have it on hand, just make sure it's triple refined.
