Having inherited oily skin, which is both a curse and a blessing, I struggled with the idea that drying out my skin with harsh cleansers was not the best way to keep pores clean. Drying out the skin causes irritation and the pores work overtime producing more sebum, causing more problems.

I now use Burt's Bee's Wax Apricot Scrub to exfoliate and cleanse without drying out my face. Then I use olive oil on problem spots.

I also have to be careful with shampoos and conditioners. Products like Garnier's Fructis will make me break out.
I love Burt's. I have combination skin. arrrg! I either dry my skin out or look like a oil head. I have to be very careful what I put on my face or I get breakouts in the oily spots. Thanks for the suggestion on the olive oil. I will also check out the Burt's.
