You guys are the best - thank you all for your input!! I spent a couple of hours playing around on my new Macbook Air and I'm really liking it!

i had thought about getting the air for the weight but couldn't justify the price...hehe

Definitely the Mac Book Pro...save your money...well worth the wait!
I think the 13" is $999.00 and there are no "deals" on them.
If ever, usually around Christmas and maybe 10% off, from Apple.

After talking with my SIL, computer person, he has assured me
since I am a dunce with computer's this is what I need so

I know - the Air wasn't even on my radar because of the price.

But I was so fortunate to find this one that's less than a year old, has a Superdrive and lost of other accessories, is already loaded with programs I want and it still has about 2 years left on the AppleCare warranty - all for less than half of what the laptop alone cost new a few months ago. And everything is in PERFECT condition - I truly can't tell that it's ever even been used. I am just so pleased with the bargain I got!!

I usually miss out on all the really good deals.

Thank you, Carol!! Your posts were a big part of why I wanted to go with a Mac. Having local help and support available is a huge plus for me, and the people at my Apple Store have already been so nice and helpful. I really think you're going to like it - I had never even seen an Apple screen before yesterday and I was boogying around on it after just an hour or so last night. There is going to be a learning curve after using Windows for so many years, but I don't think it will be too bad at all.

I can't wait until you get yours - we can learn together!!

I'm having so much fun on this new laptop!!

Sorry, just had to share that.

I found out earlier today that the local Apple Stores have free classes for the public in different subjects and software. So, I enrolled in 2 they have coming up in the next several days - the Getting Started Workshop (learn how to use a Mac) & the Ultimate Upgrade: Switching to a Mac from Windows.

Ok I know you're getting sick of me talking about this but I am having a blast!!

Can I hire you as my personal shopper?

I know you wrote that you have signed up for classes -- another great resource is "The Missing Manual" available at Amazon -- there are versions for OS X Leopard and Snow Leopard, depending on which one you have. The books contains all of the essentials as well as advanced tips and tricks. Best of all, the book is the best written, well-arranged computer book I have ever read.

Yep, my new camera was shipped out yesterday!

I never buy things like this so I was waaaaay behind techology. I finally decided I was tired of 'making do', so guess where my tax refund went? Now, I'm happily broke again.

I have a perfectly good Dell desktop, but I NEEDED a laptop.
