I don't care for dogs without or very short hair:rolleyes: I guess I like longer hair. Also the breeds that have the large bug eyes, looks like if they hit their head their eyes would pop out.:eek:

Honestly, Yorkies were ugly for me before! *runs away* :D I thought they looked weird with the long hair. I don't know how and when I started falling in love with them. They're now the cutest and most beautiful dog breed on earth for me.

I dislike Chinese Crested dogs, they look creepy for me. I'm not fond of Bichon Frise and Chow Chow.

When my boyfriend mention that if we get a small dog good for allergies, we should get a yorkie like his uncle had, I tough " That weird little thing with the pony tail!:eek: No way!!"

But after researching the breed and visiting a few breeder, I just fail in love with the breed. And now I have 5 of them...;)

I have to admit: I think Yorkies w/long hair are pretty creepy. Same w/the teensie ones dressed in, what looks to me, like childrens' pageant gear. There is, however, a member here - I believe JeanneK - whose dogs long hair is so smooth and shiny, it looks like silk. I wish it were atop my head.

But, I love Yorkies in a puppy-cut.

Actually I think their eyes can pop out. I believe I read that somewhere. I would love to have a Chinese Crested, the hairless one not the powder puff. I think dogs like that have more personality to make up for the lack of other things. Just think of all the cute clothes they could wear without having to worry about matting up it's hair. I don't mind if someone doesn't like my breed of dog, it's just their opinion. Just think if everyone had liked the same breed of dog there would have only been one breed. Just like people they have different personalities, looks, likes and dislikes. So it goes that they are not one size fits all but one size will fit someone and it will be a perfect fit.

LOL - so it's not just me!! I speak Spanish, too (learned it in Argentina and Miami) and I'll occasionally do this w/Spanish, too. But, Castellano is much more poetic and beautiful than my mother languages :)

Shihtzu's are actually pretty far down as far as their intelligence goes (according to tests, of course, so who knows!). I think they're like number 71 or something (Yorkies are #27). So I'm surprised to see all these smart shihtzu stories, hehe.

Well, apparently my little Tia must of been a "rare" shihtuz because she was pretty intelligent....(hehe)..:) Now the 2 labs I owned on the other hand were probably the "least intelligent" dogs I have ever owned. I had a black and a chocolate that both came from champion backgrounds and it took forever for those 2 to learn anything.. it was crazy. :eek:
I particurly like the smooshed face dogs, I would love to own a english bulldog some day. You really do have to watch out for the "bugged eyed dogs" and their eyes falling out.. my gramma has a shihtzu and one of his eyes really popped out..:( however its due to poor breeding and thank goodness its fixable...

I'm ashamed to say this but I can't stand Poodles. Small, mimi or standard I dislike them all and it drives me nut's when one one wins a dog show which is very often.
They always look like a happy hooker, IMO.:(

One of the reasons why I was getting a Yorkie because of my allergies. My boyfriend thought they look like rats with long hair :eek: and he likes bigger dogs. But now... he's so in love with Sandy! Sometimes he'll tell me, 'I saw a really cute Yorkie today...' There are a few of them in our neighbourhood.

It took weeks to convince him that Yorkies are sweet little smart dogs and I was so right! ;)

Miss Behavin was the name of a horse I had a while back whilst living in Argentina :). I found it funny. I wanted to name her 'Vendetta' (so I could say I had a Vendetta :p ). But, my wishes were overruled.

I think Standard Poodles might be worse than Shihs. Not only are they ugly, but so. mean. My mum used to walk Casey around her neighborhood, and at night she would pass by a house where two huge black dogs would go crazy barking ferociously! She told me about the "2 Dobermans that scared the hell out of her", but one day I passed by, and saw they were 2 black standard poodles! I don't think she was scared after that.

I have been bitten by two dogs in my life. One was some sort of terrier mix, (mutt), medium sized. I was a child then. The second was in my adult years and it was by a shih-tzu. I do find that they tend to have temperament problems and many are prone to snapping and biting. Having said that, when the temperament is correct, they can be an amazing dog. Very loyal to their owners.

I grew up believing Golden Retrievers were one of the ultimate dogs, naturally obedient and well-behaved. However, recently I have encountered so many ill-behaved ones with terrible psychological problems, including severe separation anxiety. Bad breeding and lack of training, I suppose.

I don't hate any dog breed, but I do despise a large percentage of dog owners for being irresponsible bubble-heads. :p

The only dog breed I deem ugly is that one that usually wins the Ugly Dog Contest -- looks like it has a terrible skin condition.
