Ghosts! My husband and I were sitting out in the garage over the weekend. He had been gone hunting () with his buddies for a few days and it was a beautiful night so we were just hanging out enjoying the night. He tells me that he had a really weird thing happen to him while out "in the field" that day. He felt like someone was behind him so he turned around to look and saw someone in camo who looked exactly like HIM! I immediately think of his father who passed away several years ago and at that same moment (only) he feels a cold chill  and asks if I felt it as well (no I didnt). He then says he felt is again  So lets talk about ghosts! :p I know there have been several threads started in the past and love to read everyones experiences. :D Any one else want to share? I have another one if anyone is interested..................:D |
Id love to hear your other story. I am in to ghost stories and strange things. The only one I have isnt that really scary. One time when I was home alone the dryer turned on by itself. |
Yes, I would love to hear more of your stories! :) I have a ghost that lives in my house. I've acutally seen it. (Or more than one, who knows.) I thought I was crazy at first...all of this wierd stuff happening. After my hubby had a few experiences of his own, then he finally believed me. Let's see, some of the stuff that's happened: --We FREQUENTLY hear voices coming from the back room in the house. Almost like whispering behind a closed door. Never anyone there, never any TV on or anything... --Had the automon (sp?) roll across the tile floor in front of the door on it's own, hubby has heard choking noises and run into the room where I am thinking it's me, only it never is. --I've seen it twice. Once I had gone to the bathroom while hubby went to get me a drink of water. Came out, cut the light off, got in bed and sat up as hubby walked back through and around the foot of the bed. Sat up and reached out to get the water from him when suddenly he really DID walk back in the room. Whatever had been there to begin with was suddenly gone. --We never talk about this in front of my 8yo, and if she ever notices anything, we blow it off. The first time I saw it (above) was on a Sat night. The following Monday, my mom picked her up from school, before I fessed up and told my mom what had happened. She said that Taylor came out of school and kept looking behind her, then got in the car and kept looking in the mirror. She asked her what she was doing and she said, "I keep feeling like someone is following me." My mom asked her who and she said, "I don't know...but it's someone...familiar?" --Also, saw it one night while I was laying stuff out in the kitchen for a trip we were taking the next day. Our kitchen counter/bar is about waist high and I see really quick this black thing move to the living room on the other side of it. It looked as if my kid, who was supposed to be getting out of the tub at the time, had ducked down and run into the living room. I yelled to her, but she didn't answer. I got mad that she was playing games and walked around to the living room only she wasn't there. Come to find out, she was still in the tub! --At this point, I'm pretty used to it, doesn't even phase me anymore. I was woken up a few weeks ago in the middle of the night by something hitting the foot of my bed, causing it to shake. I sat up, nothing there. Laid back down and it started again. Sat up again, Trixie was sitting bolt upright, staring into the corner, cocking her head from one side to the other. I said, "Leave me alone, I'm trying to sleep!" Laid back down, and hubby just mumbled, "I already told it that once tongiht." --Mom was watching the dogs while we were out of town back in July and told me she was never so glad for me to get back in all her life. Said that after that weekend, she fully believed me. Said she was over with the dogs one evening and out of the corner of her eye saw something move by the front window. Said she turned her head that direction and froze, but didn't see anything. Said seconds later, Trixie jumped off the couch to the floor and started barking in that direction like something was there. (Ironically, that's one of the areas where I frequently think I "see" something out of the corner of my eye.) |

The other thread was "Has Anything Unexplained Ever Happened To You" if I remember right. |
My story was passed onto me by my mother, but I thought that I would share. My great grandmother died during child birth. She was an albino except she had blue eyes instead of pink eyes. Well, tell the story short, she lost too much blood and passed before ever getting to see her son, my grandfather. About 2 weeks after this all happened, my great grandfather was in the yard tending to his garden. My grandfather (the baby) was sleeping inside of the house. He saw my greatgrandmother on the porch and she went inside. He followed her, saying she looked like a beautiful angel. She went into the nursery and locked the door. She stayed in there for over an hour. He could hear her singing to her newborn son. After the hour passed, he opened the door to see the baby sleeping and the rocking chair still moving. She was gone. The really interesting part is that my sister looks exactly like my grandmother. Thanks to better medicine she is with us today. She almost died giving birth to her son too. |
Here are a few old threads for those that have not seen them. Lots of great ghosts stories: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/off...pened-you.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/off...ve-ghosts.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/off...want-move.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...ere-again.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...saw-ghost.html I have a few stories in these thread as well. I'm running out to PT in a few minutes but when I get home I'll tell you about what my neighbor who has baby Michael living under her daughters bed just told me  We are convinced that we live in a haunted neighborhood!:eek::eek: |

I believe in spirits/ghosts . . never personally saw one . . .my kids claim that in the spare bedroom there was this woman that used to come out of the closet every night, look around, and go back in . . they describe her as an old woman with white hair wearing a blue flowered dress and has glasses . . .now, to me, I immediately thought of my grandmother and maybe she used to check in on my daughter (it used to be her room until we built the addition). Also, in the same room, daily I hear like what sounds like a jewelery box lid closing . . it happens a few times a night (don't know what it is) but Rhianna has gone in there several times stares at nothing and just barks. Love this thread!! |
When I was first married my husband and I had an apartment , it was located next to a cemetary... My daughter was around 2 when she came up with this imaginary " friend" his name was David, she colored on her bedroom wall she said " David" told her to do it, she wanted extra cookie's for David ect...she would be in her room giggling etc.. It drove me crazy , well one night my husband ( now x) shaved his moustache, he came out of the bathroom freshly shaved , my daughter had never seen him with out his moustache, and went in to kiss her goodnite, She looked shocked!! She said mommy mommy , now Dadddy looks just like David does... Urrrghhhh I was like okay Danielle , where does David live, she said you know mommy over there , she pointed to the cemetary, she said he only goes there after I go to sleep.. It gave me the biggest chill down my back... yes we moved about 6 weeks later!! My husband was not even a little scared his sister passed away when she was 6 and his entire family say she never left the house.. he never said she haunted his house but weird things often happened after she passed away!;) |
Good timing for this thread with Halloween coming! ;) |
My son just reminded me of a something that happened in his bedroom a few months back. Brandon (22) was up late 2 AM, playing WoW and heard what he said sounded like someone tapping their foot on the floor next to him. He got up thinking it was me because he sometimes get a little too involved in the action. I was sound asleep in the recliner where I spend quite a few nights after my last surgery. :( He then looked around the house and didn't see or hear anything or anyone and went back to his game turning his headphones up to drown out the tapping  The next day the same thing again but this time it was next to his bed while he was sleeping. He got up again looked around and nothing. The next morning he asked if I had been up because he heard FOOT STEPS in the hallway right after the tapping. This part I just found out a little while ago~~~~he said that he still hears the tapping during the night and has the feeling like someone is watching him! His solution he rolls over toward the wall and goes back to sleep  |
I LOVE THESE STORIES!!! hehehehe Some of the ones posted have sent chills down my back. I have one story. I lived in the same house for the first 14 years of my life, then 2 years ago, my mom became disabled and had to stop working, so we lost our house and moved to the next town over (so my brother and I would be able to go to the same high school). there's the backround! haha So this house was a lovely little ranch. It had a broken built-in pool in the backyard, and an attached garage. It was really nice. Despite this, I never felt like I was home in that house. I always wrote it off to just being because I missed my old house/town/life. Then weird stuff started happening. The first thing that ever happened was that I was taking pictures and in one of the pictures, a white lacy "decoration" showed up on the wall. well we had NOTHING like that hanging on the wall and I couldn't find anything that would reflect something that looked like it. I eventually forgot about it. My bedroom was on one side of the house, with the foyer into the house on the other side of my bedroom. Whenever I was walking from the kitchen to my bedroom (past the foyer/living room) at night, I'd get the WEIRDEST feeling and I would run and slam the door behind me - it litterally felt like something was following me. We used to have 2 cats, so we were used to the noise of cats jumping around and running around, etc. and that's what all the little bumps and bangs sounded like. Then we realized, wait a sec. We don't have cats anymore. It sounded like someone just moving around the house. My dad swears he would hear banging on the door at night - from the inside. So weird, I thought. But I tried not to let it get to me, cause I knew it would scare me too much. Then one night I was lying in bed and I glanced at my mirror just in time to see a white figure go out my door. I had about 17 heart attacks. at a garage sale we had one time, my mom was talking to a woman who babysat for the family who lived here about 30 years ago, and when my mom said that I was convinced the house was haunted the woman said "I'm sure it is," bought her stuff, and left. Well, long story short, we got another house down the road (that felt like home the first time I set foot in it :)). We moved in in April, and have had no more "disturbances." My dad was talking to some neighbors from the other house, who informed us that back in 80s, a woman was murdered by her husband/boyfriend in the foyer of that home. One of the neighbors that my dad was talking to was one of the first people at the house that night after the cops showed up. I don't miss that house at all, and I'm just glad that I didn't hear that story until after I moved out of it!! PS - strange how things work: when we first moved into our now-new house (haha), she asked where we moved from. We told her our old address, and she said "Wow. There's a lot of history in that house." my dad said "Yes, it's haunted." and she said "My sister-in-law (I think it was sister-in-law) was murdered there." and our new house (That we're living in now) is a 90 year old farm house with a pretty large property, and I was SO scared that it was going to be haunted or something. but nothing's bothered us so far! haha That was way long hahaha. |
Great story Megan! Let's keep them coming I love stories like these! |

The "she" I'm talking about here is our new neighbor, btw. haha |
A couple years ago we moved an elderly relative out of her home due to dementia. It was no easy task for many reasons. One being hoarding, not bad yet but a good start on boxes, empty plastic bags etc. The place was still full as could be from years of living there and not remebering what she had so she'd buy another. It was a two story condo, 3 BD, 3BA and it was full. Anyway, she had a big diamond ring her late husband had bought her and decided to put it on while we were there. I noticed later when she was at the kitchen sink the two rings she had on were gone. I asked her where they were and she said right here, reached in her pocket and only pulled out one ring and it wasn't the one her late husband had given her. We looked everywhere for it for at least a couple days. We had hired movers to come for the big heavy stuff and I wanted to find the ring before they arrived and one of them found it. I had also staged a bunch of stuff in the livingroom for the movers to take. The day before they were to arrive I stood alone in the condo in the kitchen and said out loud. "F"(her late husband's name)you have to show us where that ring is because we can't find it. Later that night my husband calls me over to the staging area and he's pointing to the floor. I look and there with a vacuum cleaner cord is the ring. I said thank you "F". |
I Just thought of one more! This one is short haha. :p 2 years ago or so, I was babysitting (a skinkid) for a local YT'er (:)). and everytime I walked past this one painting in their living room, I got a really weird feeling. It gave me the heebie-jeebies. It was a beautiful painting, really, - I think it was of a woman looking out a window, if I remember correctly? At one point I sat down on the couch underneath it, and got chills like crazy and walked into the other room. Later on, probably on one of those threads up there ^^^ LOL, this YT'er posted about how she thinks a painting in her living room is haunted. |
i thought of something weird i havent thought about in a while my mom had pics of a birthday party we had as kids...my sister had a bunch of little girls over and as we were looking through the pics there is this pretty blonde girl there that no one knows who she is.... my mom always stashes her loose pics in a big ziplock bag in her file cabinet..until recently because now she puts them on disc..anyways she had a bag with pics of me and my sister growing up, my dogs puppies (they were spitz/shelties) it was a lot of pics..well after my grandmother died..they went missing and have been gone ever since..my mom claims she must have taken the pics i was never really close with that grandmother...she favored my sister alot and she had mental issues that i didnt understand back then. at 60 she was cripled with arthis because her second husband just beat the u know what out of her..and my mother was always treated really bad as a kid, and as a kid-teenager i would see her talk so ugly to my mom that i grew to hate her i guess...well shes been dead i guess 10-15 years now and i will have dreams of her coming to me...sometimes she is nice and wants to talk and others she is like the devil..but the strange thing is when i wake up i can smell her in my hair, on my bed and my clothes..i know its her smell because i hated that smell!..lol its that Keri lotion... sometimes out of the blue ill get that smell around me too..i can be home, or in the car or at a store and smell it all of the sudden.. my parents house was very scary for me growing up..but around 15 i got a quija board and played with some friends and it got really scary for me..strange things happened..emotions where really out of control for everyone in that house the night we used it..when i got home i flipped it over and it had signatures and faces printed on the back of it and these rings like cup rings but i was told that meant how many sprited you contacted...well i told my mom and she thought i was nuts because it was make by parker brothers its a toy...i was terrified to have it in my house..i didnt sleep for 2 weeks because of the noise in my closet (which is where the quija board was stored) i had to throw it away, my mom was really upset about that but something thats happened around that time i contribute to that board..for example i spent the night some where and my mom was woken up to some noise in the hall and it was my room closed door...shaking and and the knobb turning like someone was trying to get out..she was so scared she went back to her room and locked the door..another time i was watching tv in bed..watching channel usa and my door which was closed opened and a tall figure was standing there..i thinking it was my dad waved and the door slammed shut so hard the house shook..i went to the hall and no one was there dad was snoring...another time i was gone and my sister and cousin were at home..my mom thought they were upstairs and heard them go into my room and were playing around so she goes to the foot of their stairs and says to them to get out of my room...and when she said that something slammed against the inside of my bedroom door and shattered...glass came out from under the door. so mom went running upstairs to cuss some kids and when she opened the door no one was there...and i dont know what was broken because we used to find pieces all the time but i didnt know what it went to..it was a smoke glass with gold trim we used to hearing people walking around up stairs before the installed carpet and the downstairs doors will sound like they are slamming and slam so hard the house shakes but when you check them they are still locked at my current house i do hear someone knocking or ringing the door bell late at night but no one is ever there...my husband thinks im crazy but i heard it and so did the dogs |
I've had several things happen over the years but the scariest has to what happened just after my Grandmother passed away. I'd gone to sleep quite easily but at sometime during the night something woke me up, tried to go back to sleep & eventually nodded off. Next night same thing, only this time it seamed darker, eventually put the light on and fell asleep. Next night, dont know if I was waiting for it, but was very jumpy and had to sleep with the light on and the next. Each night the atmousphere just got heavier & heavier, with me getting more frightened. Finally after about a week I lay in bed terrified too frightened to sleep, I eventually went downstairs and lay awake all night. I refused to sleep in thre the next night too afraid too venture in there for more than a few minutes to get my cloths, I slept in the spare room the next night and was woken by several heavy bangs on the floor and wall. After that it went quiet but it was still 6 months before I eventually managed to return to sleeping in there. Thinking about it still gives me the creeps today. |

Talking ghosts Oh wow..I could go on for days with ghost stories. I have many EVP's (electronic voice phenomenon) that I have recorded on my camcorder while visiting a beautiful, and quite old cemetery near our summer campground. One summer while camping with my girls (husband worked the week and came out for the weekends)...we were bored and decided to ride through the little cemetery a mile or so down the road from the campground. I had my two daughters with me and at the time they were about 13 and 10 years old. We were driving through the cemetery with our windows down. No radio on in the car, and no other people were in the cemetery at the time. We were in awe of the beauty of this old cemetery. We never heard a thing...and just enjoyed our drive down the winding paths that lasted maybe...10 minutes. Well, we went back to the campground...went swimming, had a bonfire...and had fun the rest of the evening. It never even crossed my mind to look at the video we had taped at the cemetery. It wasn't until the girls had went to sleep until I was bored and remembered the tape. The tape was nothing special...kind of boring until we made the turn around a very old and very spookey out house bathroom in the cemetery. As we made the turn...a man's voice that sounded more like a chanting monk said very clearly..."run towards the kids". This was no whisper like most EVP's. This was very clear, and had a chant sound to it. Needless to say...I could not believe what I was hearing...and I listened to it over and over to make sure I was really hearing this. I forced myself to finish watching the rest of the tape...and sure enough...a few turns later...the same voice says in the same chanting style..."Help me". Now remember...I am in the middle of a dark capmground at night with two young girls...and at this point...I am freaking!!! I didn't want to wake my girls and scare them...so I just put the camera away...and couldn't sleep for most of that night. After we returned home from our vacation...I researched the voices on my tape...and sent them to a local ghost hunters group. They said they were some of the best EVP's they had ever heard. They told me that children give off more energy then adults...and that ghosts are highly attracted to this energy. They were certain that is why this ghost instructed all his ghostly friends to run towards my kids. I still get goose bumps thinking about this. Since then...I have recorded MANY evp's in this same cemetery. I have had ghosts tell me their names, and one tell me to "GET OUT" !!! In fact...we even had a ghost answer one of our questions. I plan to make a web page with all my EVP's soon. I also have a few incredible ghost "encounters" that I will ad tomorrow. :) |

In my old house we saw and heard a lot of paranormal stuff. I love it but it freaks me out. Does anymore watch "A Haunting"? Its based on true stories. Discovery Channel :: TV Listings :: A Haunting |
i used to watch them all the time until one of the really freak me out about "man" |

I'm not sure about why a place would become more haunted if you spend more time there. Maybe the ghosts become more comfortable with our presence and will try and express themselves more. As weird as it sounds...I did find myself becoming "attached" to certain graves. This cemetery allows the families to do all kinds of things to the grave sites...and some of these graves were dressed up so much...they actually told "stories" of the life that particular person led and the lives they left behind. I was drawn to the children's graves, and to the graves of husbands who were taken much to soon, and left behind heartbroken wives. One day we parked on one of the three roads that run through the cemetery. These little gravel roads run right through the cemetery...so when you park...you are surrounded by graves. As usual...nothing was heard during our walk through. But when we listened to the tape back at the campground...we had a few iffy EVP's...nothing great. UNTIL...we went to leave and was getting into the car. We always leave the camcorder running until we are out of the cemetery. Well, as we were getting into the car...a women's voice in a loud whisper clearly say's..."Watch me...I'm crying". This EVP really bothered me, as this woman even in death...was hurting. And she wanted us to know. And because all my evp's are captured on a camcorder...we have video as well. So we could see which graves we were near when we heard this voice. We decided to see if there was anything different about the graves in the area we heard the voice. The only thing that caught our attention was a small family plot of a husband, the wife "Emma", two grown sons and one DIL. The thing that stood out about this little group of graves is...the father, the two sons, and the DIL were all in the front together in a line. Emma' the wife and mother was in the back by herself. For some reason...she was not placed in the family group after she died. I had the strong feeling she was separated for a reason, like she was being punished in death for some kind of betrayal in life. I tried casually talking to Emma asking her if she were the one crying and didn't get any responses. But still...we always headed strait to Emma's grave when we would drive out on the weekends. And then finally...one day...she answered us. The only ones present that day were me and my oldest daughter. We had made our rounds on foot and once again found ourselves at Emma's grave. We were a little bummed as we hadn't gotten a good EVP since the "crying" one. My daughter asked out of the blue...Emma...why won't you talk to us". And as clear as you could hope for...we hear on the tape in response to my daughters question..."but you can't hear us". I WAS FLOORED when we heard that! This was a direct answer to a direct question. Was it Emma...who knows. But I consider it one of the better EVP's to have been caught on tape. My EVP's were all captured in cemetery's. I have never tried to purposely catch a voice on tape in my home. I know better then that...as I don't want to "rile" anything up needlessly in the place I live and sleep. I have a few other experiences with EVP"s that tend to prove they are communicating directly with the living. I will post them later, as this one is much too long. |
I watch the guys from TAPS now and then. Hubby hates all that stuff so I can only watch if he's not home and I remember to tune in. |
