| Mature content.Plastic surgery question! For awhile now I have been considering a breast augmentation. My right breast did not develop like my left and it is only getting worse as I get older. Bathing suits are a nightmare as the difference in the two is very clear! My question is has anyone had this procedure? If you dont mind saying, what was the cost? Were you able to do a financing plan? Just the basic information on this surgery if you have any experience with it would be great!

| My mom has her boobs done. I want to say she paid around $6000 and I'm not sure about the finance planning, etc. She's had it done three times so plenty of experience *lol* They were all after her kids. I don't really "agree" with her doing it so often but in your case, that would bother me as well. I know my mom's first two surgeries weren't very painful. She was sore for about a week. Her third one she actually had a LIFT, which is alot more invasive and she was in a lot of pain and still has scars two years later.

| I have many friends who have had theirs done. These days financing is very common. Some of my friends are still paying them off LOL. One friend had her's done over the muscle and she was fine in a little after a week, but you can feel the sac inside. My other friends who have done it under the muscle, their recovery was much longer and more painful, as you can imagine. You can't feel the sac, but the tissue itself is much harder overall. The way you are describing, I am assuming this is an abnormality or deformity instead of just cosmetic? You may have to go to a dr that specializes in correction instead of just enlargement. If you only want one side done, the implanted side can look and *hang*? differently than the natural side. I'm sorry you have to deal with this. Good luck.

| Only one cup size diff? That's not so bad, that's the same deal with myself, left side c cup, right side b cup. It used to bother me, but not really anymore. I never go to the beach, I never have to don a swimsuit, LOL. I don't like the sun! What about putting padding just in the right side? Or padding in both and MORE in the right side? Sorry If I'm being to personal, but what size are you thinking of? also may i ask how old you are? If you're very young you may still "fill out" a little down the road.

| i dont mind you asking,im nineteen, its been like this since around sixteen, its like the right side just completely stopped growing compared to the left...i do the padding thing but its just so much of a hassle making sure everything is just so,and it still doesnt completely fix it. i just want to be a full B( im only 105 pounds so I dont want it be overwhelming).. a year or so ago my 12 year old sis even noticed through a sweater so its definatley a big difference...maybe its more than a cup size,i should definately check but it is noticable...and i practically live in bathing suits during the summer haha

I'll get a little graphic here. I had my implants done by a reconstructive surgeon, who recommended that the implants be placed under the muscle. Better to do the monthly lump exam and after the surgery your walking gently massages the breast and helps prevent incapsulation (harding). This method is a bit more painful but, in the long run better, they look (can't see or feel the ridge of the implant), feel and act more like natural breasts. Is it painful. You bet you, I won't lie to you, it felt like someone has hit me with a baseball bat across the chest. Lasted a couple of days, but pain meds and antibiotics are prescribed. The down side for me was when the doc removed the bandages, I was so swollen and black and blue I began crying hysterically and asked the doc to remove them. After he calmed me down, I got over it. Swelling went completely down in a couple of months. Several years ago the cost was $3,700 dollars. Now the price included annual breast exams by my physician for the reast of my life. This was before the big implant scare and the price sky rocketed.

| I can understand you being self concious. I can relate. My advice would be to do alot of research on the plastic surgeon. Dont be afraid to ask questions of how many cases he/she has done that are simular to yours. And make sure they are board certified in Plastic Surgery. Once you have the consult you can get the idea of pricing. Yours might be different than the norm because of your issue... Good luck! |

| I had mine done after pregnancy wrecked my original set. It was about 10 years ago and they were $5000. I didn't finance but I did recently have a consult with a plastic surgeon for something else and she did offer interest free financing on 50% of the cost for 1 year I believe. If you have a low interest credit card you could go that way too. I'm a bit of a baby but I was in a ton of pain for the first 4 days. Just plan on staying drugged. You're smart to not want to go too big- that was my mistake. It sounds like something you've given it lot of thought so why not? There are a lot of plastic surgery forums that can help with specific questions also.

| One I can think of off hand is makemeheal but I know there are several good ones. Yestheyrefake has pretty good info too I think (along with having a funny name).

| I also recommend it. I had an augmentation about 5 1/2 years ago and they still are terrific. I went from a small B to a full C. I have also had three kids and wanted them "filled up" like when I was full with milk. I know, probably TMI...LOL... I too had uneven sized breasts and the doc filled one up more than the other side to equal them out. Anyway, I would only get them under the muscle. It does hurt worse, but the results are so much better, especially down the road. Breast exams are one reason, and when they start to drop (fall into their permanent place) they will look so much better. Now if you are going for what I call the "Hollywood Cleavage", over the muscle will get that done. Me, I preferred a more natural look. I actually had to convince my husband that they were implants, they are so natural to my body. At that time there were 1 1/2 years old. It will take a little bit, but one day you won't even consider them "implants", they will just be YOU. They typically last @ 10 years and then might need to be replaced. I have saline filled. Oh, if there is any history of breast cancer in your family, demand to have a mammogram BEFORE the procedure as a baseline as to what is there now vs what could appear later. If you can get this digitally, that is the best way. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
