If I were you, I would hire an attorney. If this keeps happening, they may feel you're the problem and may get rid of you. I would take action NOW

She called me this morning and I thought I was going to get in trouble for insubordination and the foul language....but before she could say anything, I apologized for using that language - I felt bad cause she started crying again and told me she is really working on this for me and that she promised this would NEVER happen again. I told her that this was strike 3 in my book and if any man EVER touches me again that this company...which is a very LARGE Corporation is going to have a HUGE problem and it's going to be ME! I will call the Mass Dept of Labor and file a charge against the company. I will call the Boston Globe and I will contact the CEO in the US and in Japan and my nightmare will become their nightmare. My Sicilian blood is boiling...I got a long fuse, but when I've reached my limit. It ain't pretty.

I just read this thread! I feel for you! I'm so sorry you have to deal with this. I hope everything works out. *Hugs* Stay strong!

Almost 40! Sexual harrassment became an issue in the early 80's. Every company trains their employees on these issues...it's total BS & YOU have waited too long to laywer up. Get going girl before they drum up some excuse to fire you.

I've been off line for a few days contemplating the lawyer thing. What a mess... I just don't have the energy...nevermind the 5K retainer fee that the lawyer wants. It is total BS and I think the word is getting out...I don't think it's me that has to be too worried....funny thing as this "investigation" goes on more people are coming out of the wood work to report similar situations. A friend of mine says I'm pretty much bullet proof now and THEY are the ones who are freaking out. Someone else is already talking to a lawyer. Company wide emails have already been sent out, meetings and trainings are already being scheduled and people are secretly calling me telling me that if I need them as back up to call them. I'm not a "run to a lawyer and see how much money I can get" type of person.

I just want to go to work, get my paycheck and go home.

Yes, I've thought of that....but I've received an "off the record" call from a certain higher up, that I'm pretty much a "protected employee" and if I wanted to I could come in late every day and no one would say a thing to me. Also, if they decide to "eliminate my position", they could very well decide to give me a "6 figure severance package". Not sure how true that is....

besides that, I've looked into the lawyer thing and I can't afford the 5K retainer fee.

You just need to stay strong and dont let these men treat you this way. I also work with 99% men and they can talk some smack and one did smack me on the behind. I turned to him and said Guess what,you are going down. I reported it and he was taken care of. But you have to let them know its not accepable for people to enter your SPACE unless you allow them to. Be strong ...Good luck to you...

I know how you feel and I have been down this road. I've just finally come through the worst year of my life with my former employer. Hang in there and just take it one day at a time. Do what you believe it right for you. I am so sorry you are being forced to go through all of this.

Thanks! So bizarre that this type of crap STILL goes on in the workplace. Sorry to hear that you went through this too.

Today's update....A little birdie told me today that the "Ass Slapper" may be getting the axe in a matter of days. (fingers crossed) Apparently the "investigation" has brought out an additional 2 women and 2 MEN that have complained he has slapped and pinched their butts too. PLUS....about 5-6 other people have come forward to complain about his inappropriate behavior as well!!! If this guy does not get canned or at least demoted from his managerial position then this company is officially F'd up. I still feel like I'm in a bad, "made for TV" movie.....

I know how you feel I worked at a place where this happened to me but back then it wasn't considered a firing offense. In fact it was the old boys club and pretty much just laughed off. Years later another woman had it happen to her and by that time the wheels had turned, she reported it which was taken very seriously. I am so glad things have changed in the work place. I don't understand how men continue to pull this stuff knowing that in todays work place they can be fired and jobs are not a dime a dozen right now.

This happened to our daughter and her friend in high school when they went to work for a restaurant. Our daughter reported the mgr and he was let go. This was 4 years ago, we learned this week he is mgr at another restaurant in our area.

You need to hold that head up and feel proud no matter what anyone says. You just stomped on a BIG ROACH.
