Lastly, my friend who left her puppies with me for seven days has been to my home many, many times with her pups. My question is: do you think she would actually leave her puppies somewhere that she felt they would be in harm's way? Having had a four pound poodle for 14 years until I had to put her down because she was dying of cancer, I do know that any small animal can injure themselves in countless ways. We all take that risk when we become owners of small animals. Having said that, as has been heard many, many times - any of us could walk across the street today and get run down by a bus. We obviously cannot live in a bubble our whole lives. As to the question of posting private messages, my position would be that the message was sent to me and I would assume I have the right to post it wherever I care to. I am just curious as to why he would have sent it in a private message instead of posting it along with all of the positive feedback I received where not one person who posted such nice things brought up the terribly dangerous situation that they saw in the video. As an aside to the above, I have copied a message my sister posted on my other thread regarding the responses I have received. I thank her and love her for her support. I'll be taking care of her puppy on March 10th while she recovers from surgery. Needless to say, she has been to my home on many occasions and still has chosen to leave her little puppy with me.__________________________________________________ _______________ Oh for the love of God, -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Leave my sister alone. Her animals are better cared for than millions of the children in this country. She's married to a man who doles out grocery money and gas money depending on what HE wants to eat and how far HE thinks she'll need to drive while he's out of town. God forbid there should be an emergency. What do you suppose would happen if he came home from one of his business trips and discovered that she had replaced the stone coffee table with a Sponge Bob SmartyPants (or whatever his name is) coffee table for the dogs? I'd be out there digging up the land, looking for my little sister's body. So maybe you ought to back off. She takes care of those animals and loves them like her children because her daughters are gone and she has no one else with whom to share her love. Seriously people, find something better to do. You know what they say, "Judge not lest ye be judged."

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | When someone offers you advice or a tip, I don't believe they are "judging your skills as a parent" or how much you love your dogs. They are just offering you information that they think is helpful. You can offer someone a suggestion and not be judging them. I'm surprised you took this so personally, and felt such a need to defend yourself, and your situation. The PM you sent him seemed over the top harsh, and I don't understand your need to need to publicly vindicate yourself. This incident has been blown way out of proportion, and it reminds me of a quote from Shakespeare, "The lady doth protest too much, methinks."

| Very upset. . . Just venting. . .as I have seen many, many members do in the public forum - not asking for responses or feedback. I assumed I had the same right, especially being a donating member of this site. I hope that clears up your confusion. I certainly feel a lot better now. Thank you for taking the time to write.

| Please no more posting on this issue I was the person that private emailed her about my concerns. This is turning into a discussion about her and how she takes care of her Yorkies. All I wanted to say to her is that I thought the stone was a little close to the couch and should a puppy fall backwards off the couch he/she could end up hitting it's head on the stone and causing serious injury. I'm sure the table is far enough away not to do this, but after reading about one furbaby that died after simply falling off a couch I was concerned. This person obviously cares very much for her babies and would never do anything to harm them in anyway. I send the message to her private email just so what has happened would not happen. I'm also sorry she felt the need to post my private message. Please again. No more postings about this issue. Thanks John |

| Seriously no one was accusing you of harming your dogs. Accidents happen sometimes, even to the most loving of owners. The person just wanted to make sure you were aware of a potential danger. You need to stop being so defensive. Also I'm kindof surprised your sister posted what she did as it didn't portray your husband in a very positive light. Sometimes we need to stop and think before assuming things

| I don't think the concern was how you care for your animals, they obviousely looked happy and healthy, but even me watching the video right at the end when the one dog was getting ready to jump off the couch I cringed. Nothing against you or your care of your animals, just a circumstance and they probably do that 1000 times a day but for me, who does not own a yorkie but have read alot of stories, even on here where it is full of animal lovers who take GREAT care of their animals, know accidents happen. And while you may have 19 animals, you should know each one is different. I think "John" was just pointing out something that you might not have seen. Just because you have alot of animals does not mean you can prevent every situation, because new ones might come up that you might not have even thought of. My middle daughter rolled out of bed when she was 3, landed just right and broke her collarbone. I am a great mom and never thought of her bed as a hazard..... but accidents still happen. I now try to tell people to be careful because I now know that it can happen. It is not an insult on their parenting, just a caution of what CAN happen. Okay, so you now know that your dog can POSSIBLY get hurt by your tile floor...acknowledge it, thank the person for showing concern, and move on. I have told my sister what to watch out for because I have experienced things myself, I am not insulting her, I am trying to prevent anything from happening to her daughter or her dog or cats. I don't think I am a bad parent because my daughter rolled out of bed, but you can bet I check on my kids every night and push them over if they are by the edge. I think you are over reacting and you seem like maybe someone else has pushed a 'bad owner/neglect' button and this guy 'John' seems to have been the straw that broke the camels back. I could be wrong.... just an oppinion. Sorry for the novel |

| i see nothing rude at all in John's pm. However, yours is a different matter. if you had been on here very long and seen the number of broken necks, death and broken legs from little dogs jumping onto tile and other hard surfaces, you would understand his concern. |

| This is a perfect example how one subject get's into another which causes thread's to be closed. I agree with John. All he did was bring attention to a POSSIBLE situation that could cause an accident and mentioned it! Subject closed. I know if I saw something like he did and I didn't bring it to the attention of the party involved I would think about it all day and regret not saying something, thinking I could have prevented a furture accident. I think you are taking his comment to personal IMO. All you had to do was thank him for his concern from one dog lover to another, not post the entire situation for all to read then get annoyed because YT'ers are commenting! Better safe than sorry. |
