This is totally nuts! I don't care what anyone says...there is no way one can raise 14 children and give those children what they need and I'm not talking of material things. I feel very bad for that mother's parents and those innocent children. It should not be up to the government to raise them, but I'm sure that's what it will come down to. They will also need help in taking care of them...with 6 children and add 8 newborns...it will be nonstop feedings and changings. Is she planning to just leave that all up to her Mom while she's off to school. This is ridiculous!

If someone steps forward and gives this "poor" woman a mansion and a coach bus to haul around her rear, I'll blow a cork.....It irriates me to no end when stupidity and irresponsibility gets rewarded......

I'm just wondering if this doctor is in kahoots with her. If she's not married, I'm sure we're already supporting her 6 children, and now we'll be paying the hospital bills for these 8 also. I'm sick of paying for all the ones on welfare (when they are able to work). Maybe this Dr said I'll do this and we'll split all the money that you make off of them. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people that think just like that. She wants 8 kids, she can have them, and she can get a job and take care of them like we took care of our own

I just read another report that her Mother confirmed that her daughter is divorced and all the children are a result of the same sperm donor. She said she is obsessed with children and just wanted one more daughter.
Again if someone is financially secure and can provide a stable, loving home and take care of a large family, bless them!
Someone who is living with her parents in a 1500sq ft. home, has filed bankruptcy, lost homes to foreclosure, isn't married and is "obsessed" with having children, gives alot of reason for concern!
I know I can't control where my tax dollars go, except to vote, but I can still darn well say that it makes me angry and sick to think of my money going to a woman like this!
All of the poverty in this country, all the illness, etc... and tax money going to support someone who is totally irresponsible, if it turns out she ends up getting ANY public assistance, just blows my mind!

It has sounded from the minute it was released that there were some rather unethical decisions made on the part of the fertility clinic, and I cannot fathom why someone would implant or have implanted, 8 babies. I can understand the outrage there. I cannot stand by though while people are saying that NO mother could provide enough attention for 14 children. Just because you personally could not, doesnt mean that no one can. God designed everyone different, and designed all children different that are made for different families. Sometimes when a person at the store asks me if all these kids are really mine, and I tell them they are, they will say "better you than me!" and I turn and say "you're right! It is better!". I know someone personally with 14 children, and half of them are grown and out of the house now. Every single one of those out of the house are incredible people. They are selfless, happy, great parents, have successful marriages, and none feel as if they didn't get enough attention growing up.

Between one of my sons and my hubby and myself, we had $20,000 taken out of our checks last year. My son is 24 and buying a house and getting married next year. He wants to wait until all his bills are paid off before they even think about having kids, why should he or ourselves(when I can't even afford to get health ins. for myself) have to be paying for this crazy lady and her kids?? It's B.S if you ask me!

Something is very off with the doctor both morally and ethically for allowing this IVF to be done.

In reference to if a mother get devote adequate time to 14 children- in this case no way. 6 young children and 8 newborns? Um, yeah right. Mindirose since you keep talking about your children do you think you could give them the kind of attention you want to and that they deserve and also properly take care of 8 newborns? It seems apparent that the money is isn't there in this case either. I've never heard of anyone getting paid for IVF.

Why would she get paid for it while so many other women have to pay a small fortune?

Every day I go to work and see my tax dollar working.....dead beat parents leaving us, the taxpayers, footing the bill. The children pay dearly for their parent's lack of ethics. There are definitely times that government support is necessary. Example: I am sick at heart for those who have lost their jobs and are having difficulty finding another. Those who are ill need our support. But too much of it is going to dead-beats and leaving little for those who truly need it. Heard a news report not too long ago that said that it won't be too long before 50% of US citizens will be footing the US budget. Not good. No wonder we are paying 33% income tax. Well, actually it went down to 28% during this last administration.

This is something that I really don't understand either. I am sure that the clinic this was done at will be investigated. It sounds FISHY.

it is ALL over the news... the WHOLE situation is RIDICULOUS, in my opinion!!!

ALREADY having SIX kids.. then HAVING 8!!!!!!

and NOT "naturally"

i am in NO way opposed to treatments, etc. for people who have a hard time getting pregnant.... i think that is GREAT actually!!

BUT, THIS situation....

not so much!!!!

I think the whole thing is sad.

She can not afford to have all of these children!

I wonder if the story of her dad is true? Why can't he find a job here in the US? Does anyone else wonder about the mother's mental status? Maybe someone should be looking into the children's welfare. Why hasn't the mother shown her face? There is something not right about this whole story!

My Dh and I have only four children...because this is what we can "afford"
Children are very expensive; clothing, food, doctors bills, orthodonist, college!!

I think there is a huge difference between this "lady" and John and Kate. John and Kate are a married couple that where looking to have one more baby. They were not in anyway... setting out to be a reality TV show and to get any free items!! They are just normal people... trying to make it through!

Gee, I could have seen this coming! It's not a great shock!
I really hope they will investigate this woman before all these babies come home. I would be really concerned about her on so many levels!
