It's like when someone told me that if you wear red panties on NYE you'll find love on NYD. I wore red panties for years on NYE and nothing happened, and the year I didn't wore it, guess what? I starting dating hubby.

The cornbread recipe sounds yummy I used Paula Deen's recipes for Collard Greens and Spicy Black-Eyed Peas and had a marinated pork loin roast. I have to say when she says "spicy" they are...lol..

We had our black eyed peas (seasoned with the ham bone from Christmas) and greens. Unfortunately, they were canned greens, and I only had one small serving, lol. I LOVE fresh mixed greens seasoned with Goya ham seasoning and sugar. I could eat the whole pot with pepper sauce. YUM!

Ok I have to comment..... you use REAL BUTTER, eggs, and REAL sour cream ...... and skimmed milk? Sounds like me at McDonalds -- I'll take a double cheese burger, order of fries, make that supersize AND a diet coke.


When I make cornbread or biscuits I use whole buttermilk. This year, sadly enough I am going to have to start using "skinny butter and skinny milk" for health reasons.

How did you know???? After I re-read my recipe, that's exactly what I thought!! Sometimes there's just no substitution!! I try to save fat grams, carbs & calories everywhere I can but there's just some things I refuse to "alter"!!

yep, sounds about right. maybe that's why I have yet to come across any huge windfalls of money... BECAUSE I've eaten the collards every year!
