| I was in the eleventh grade and in School. I remember our principal getting on the loudspeaker and telling the teachers to turn on the tv. I remember being scared because Some of the teachers were talking about our Renaissance Center being the next target. I am not sure if they got it from the news or it was just hearsay but, it scared a lot of us. I also remember a lot of students calling their parents and vice versa. It was the one day in school where we weren't punished for having a cellphone. I didn't know anyone that was there. But I pray for the families who lost their loved ones on that horrific day. |

| I know I live a long long way away but I too remember that awful day. My sister and I were watching tv and there was a news flash (to this day the only one I've ever seen). As the reality sank in we cried ![]() ![]() I had nightmares for weeks, imagining I was on one of those planes with my young children I just can't begin to comprehend the true enormity of it all. There are truly some awful people in this world

| mu husband had took the day off so we dropped my daughetr off at school and went to the supermarket, when we got home I flipped the TV on and there it was both Twin Towers in smoke when it finally dawned on me what they were saying (terrorist) I grabbed my bag and Hubby and I went to go pick up my daughter who was 6 at the time. The amount of parents there was unbelievable such craziness. while Im waiting for them to bring her down I kept trying to call my sister and cousin who work in the city, walking distance to WTC. Im not sure if you guys remember but cellphones were not working. It took like 30 minutes to get my daughter and thank god my sis and cuz were ok, they had to walk the bridge home(queens) it took them almost 4 hours to walk home. I am so thankful that my family was not hurt. My prayers go out to all who lost loved ones.

| I was at work and a co-worker's mother called telling us to find news on our computers. (We don't have a TV in the office) We watched as the second plane hit and I remember the feeling of absolute horror I felt knowing that people were IN there. I'll never forget that day.................

| I was on my way to take my girl to a stud to be bred. It was about an hour away so I turned on the radio. They kept talking about a bomb went off in the towers. I was thinking why were they about that. That happened in 1993. I turned off the radio and when I got to the breeders house I saw what was going on. UNBELIEVEABLE!! We also watched it on TV at work. One of my co-workers couldnt find anything out about her brother who is a pilot for United, flying out of Boston that morning. His plane left 5 minutes before the plane that was hi-jacked and going to the same destination. Also, as I thought about it, I also waited on one of those SOB's the Thursday before 9/11. He was receiving a $5000.00 Western Union from Saudie Arabia. He was NOT a regular customer that used Western Union. He did not know how it worked. I guess he just thought that amount of money would be available to him. He was very nervous and was constantly on his cell phone as he did not know what to do. These pictures and memories are still just as haunting as the day it happened.

| I was home, I had just had gallbladder surgery the week before and I was doped up on pain medication. I had just turned on the tv to watch and I thought I was hallucinating from the drugs, it was just bizarre. I was glued to the tv 24/7 the next couple of weeks that I was home on medical leave. I could barely walk, but all the churches were having vigils and I went to one, it was touching and so incredibly sad. The house I lived in at the time was in a path where small private planes would frequently fly over and another path where helicopters would fly over to a hospital. I can remember how quiet and eery it was for the next couple days when no-one was allowed to fly. I went to NYC for the first time two years ago and went to the site. It was the same day they were dedicating a bronze wall memorial to the firemen at the station right across from the towers and there were alot of firemen there and it was so moving. There were so many people there, but it was quiet. I think everyone was just trying to take it all in. I cried so hard. I will never forget that day and I don't think anyone should ever forget that day. I hope and pray that nothing like that happens to us ever again!

| Was at school. Walked into a classroom and some 5th graders were saying that the one of the Twin Towers had been hit. I just accused them of telling stories. I did go out of the room, told someone else what the kids had said, and we went to a TV and found out it was true. What scared me the most is that our son had been at the Twin Towers and a building right across the street just one week before. He goes to the financial district on business about 7 x's per yr. My dil's mother had been in New York and she had to rent a car to drive home to TX. We heard a story where a plane with a bunch of New York business men had to land in Goodland, KS. They bought two 15 passenger vans and headed home. There were other strange stories that my dh heard. This morning when I was watching Fox News they replayed that horrible morning. I sat bawling my eyes out with my hand over my mouth. Still is unbelievable and makes me emotional. Forever burned into my memory. May God bless all those who lost loved ones in those terrorist attacks. Joanne

| I was living in Spain and was in the kitchen cooking lunch - my roommate yelled for me to come into the living room ... that there was something on TV I needed to see. At first I thought it was some kind of spoof or bad joke, and then the second plane hit the World Trade Center.

| YT 2000 Club Member | I had just gotten my 3 boy's off to school and my youngest had the day off of pre school, I got him his breakfast and turned on the new's and they had live coverage and I called my mom and told her to turn on the new's we saw the second plain hit the 2nd tower and I remember crying. I ran upstairs to get my husband, he worked nights, We watched more new's and then the news of the Pentagon and the plain in PA... we got worried about what else could be going on and we went and got the boy's from school. My Dad works for the county offices ( he drive the Vets to the V. A. hospitals that is in Cleveland and was in Cleveland at the Wade Park hospital and they had all government buildings on lock down so my mother was having a hard time getting a hold of him. I stayed on the phone with her till dad was able to talk to her and ease her mind till he was able to get home to her. It was such an emotional time and I will never forget that day. My heart still goes out to the families that lost a loved one.

| My alarm was set to a news station and it went off to wake me for my college class. I heard the announcer say one of the WTC towers was on fire, they thought a small plane had hit it. Through my sleepy stupor I then heard the man exclaim that another plane just hit the other tower and the realization set in that this was no accident. I jumped up and ran to turn on the T.V. just as the phone rang and it was my sister freaking out. I sat with her on the phone and watched in horror as it all unfolded. As the second tower fell I lost my mind - had panic attacks for weeks afterwards - because I saw an interview with a firefighter who was geared up and ready to head into the second tower after the first tower fell. I cried my eyes out for him because I knew, as I watched the second tower fall, that he was gone! I picked my 10 year old daughter up from school right after the WTC was gone. The news was reporting that other planes may be unaccounted for and missing. If the world was going crazy I wanted her with me. As we got home and out of the car, I had her stop and look up at the clear, blue sky and noted that the day was one to remember forever and that it was the first time, and hopefully the last, that she would ever see the sky empty of a single airplane or jet trail. The feelings of that day still linger... God Bless all whose lives were impacted by the tragic events of that day!

| I was at work. My boss came into the office from a meeting saying that we were under attack. I thought she was kidding because who would be crazy enough to attack the USA? Well, I guess we found out that there are truly bad people. Today I was thinking of all the people who lost loved ones and of all the babies that were born after this tragedy who will never know their fathers. So sad.

| I remember I was in Spanish Class in High school when suddenly a teacher runs in crying saying TURN ON THE TV TURN ON THE TV, so we turned it on and it was right when the second plane was hitting... I didn't think much of it but then it was crazy everyone started leaving parents picking everyone up early. I remember I left during lunch and my mom was waiting for me outside. They were saying that to be careful because they might attack large cities. I had mixed emotions about it. In a way I got over quickly and the only time I cried was when I was watching a documentary on the one year anniversary about all the children that were born without fathers.

| I was teaching my group of 4th graders and a coworker came in crying because she couldn't reach her sister in NY. The principal came on the intercom and told us to close all windows and lock our doors (our school is next to major university). The children knew something was wrong and a little girl started running towards the door shaking and crying. I stopped teaching and just read stories to them as one by one they all went home. During my lunch time that day I went to pick up my girls at school and left them with grandma. I remember the craziness as I drove back to school and I remember how scared I was. The days that followed all we could do was think about the families and victims of this horrific day in our history.

| I was backed in to a small trailer home about to make a delivery when my dad called and asked if I had heard. We were on the phone when the second plane hit and my dad had a hard time telling me what had happened. I remember feeling short pangs of panic when the planes we allowed to start flying again, our home is on a route they use from the regional airport. Getting used to hearing them fly over us at night took a while. My heart goes out to those who lost a loved one on that day. My unending gratitude goes to those who have kept us safe for the last seven years.
