I don't think people should have to keep opinions to themselves, just because they are not "popular." We all have different opinions on what is "heartless and cruel." I don't think when she posted this it was coming from a mean place at all. Many people are afraid to post how they feel about things because they will be jumped on for being mean. This is a very emotional subject, and people are free to have different opinions as long as they are respectful, and I believe she was. Mom2BabyNatalie should be aware that if she goes "National" with this news, many people will react the same way donnarod did.

Regardless... I'm sorry about your Malty... 15 years is a very long time to have shared and I'm certain it must have broken your heart to have to part with a friend so dear.... but yes, in many instances, letting them go is the best, and most loving thing you can do for your baby... I agree.

Emma is HEALTHY right now... she is STRONG... and she's a FIGHTER......

She was born with a deformity.... one that CAN and WILL be corrected.

I was informed that Emma experienced from the initial surgery (the major surgery) the same amount of pain as a newborn human baby boy feels during a circumcision..... you are aware that they don't anesthetize babies for this procedure, no?

Of course, she had pain.... and may still have.................. but do you tell someone who has to fight for their life through cancer... to just lay down and die because they will have to endure some pain in order to reach for a cure???

Do you tell your child, who was born with a misaligned spine that they will simply have to deal with the deformity because the pain to repair it would be unbearable???

I don't understand your thinking...................... and don't care to discuss this further.............. please share your thoughts from here on out in this thread, only if they are a positive show of support for our girl.

My understanding is that Emma had local anesthesia during her surgery and the other visits to the vet were to replace the stitches. Anyone who has had surgery knows that there is pain involved in the healing process. One of those things you have to deal with in life.

My granddaughter was born with numerous and some rare birth defects. She has endured multiple surgeries in her 1 1/2 years. To name just a few, 2 cranial surgeries, tracheostomy, feeding tube, g-tube, hip surgery, orbital bones to replace ones missing at birth. She can't walk or talk but she is the happiest little girl and always give me a million dollar smile. I cannot imagine my life without her....WHY??? would it be any different for a furbaby as opposed to a skinbaby??? Just my opinion.

I thought we were allowed to express our opinions, if you don't agree, that is just fine with me.
In my mind, what I said is "NOT" heartless or cruel. I saw the video but I know that baby is suffering and it makes me suffer for it.
I pray that God will take his pain away, I can't imagine.

Aaaaah. This is so sad, these opinions on giving up.

Of course this baby is in pain. But later on in it's little life, it will not remember the pain. To give up is not an option, in my opinion.

I have been reading this thread from the very beginning. Just the fact that it happened is painful to me, but I keep reading and pray that it will all be over, that the baby will heal quickly. I know that even when she does, the problems will not be over. They will just be different problems.

My daughter was born with a cleft lip and palate. She has had very many surgeries in her lifetime and she is now forty years old. She recently had another surgery on her ear because this birth defect causes this kind of problems. She anticipates another surgery on her other ear.

I do have memories of many different times it was extremely difficult for her and quite painful.

I have three grandchildren. Each time one of them was due, I was always stressed because I worried that they might have the same problem. There was always a fifty/fifty chance of it, they said. However, each one was fine. It wasn't only 'them' that I worried for. It was her, as well. I knew what she would need to be able to endure if one of her children had this defect.

I am cheering for Emma. I am praying that she will make it through all of this and go on to have her life. I will not give up on her or on the effort that is being expended in her behalf. My God is a God of miracles. I pray for this for Emma.

One blessed thing is that Emma will never have to endure the callousness of humans that persecute the 'differentness' of her from other pups. She will never have to even know that she is 'different', because she will never have the comprehension of the differentness. Only that she is loved. I will say that for my daughter, this was by far the most difficult to cope with. Things that just 'popped out' of peoples mouths without proper regard of feelings.

So, Dena....you just keep doing your best. This time will pass and you will always know that you did do your best, whatever the outcome. Yours is only to continue the effort on Emma's behalf. This is not an 'old' dog who has lived a full life, but a brand new life that is deserving of life. If it is God's will, it will be so.

Ohhhh.......I reacted...I don't want anyone's feelings hurt...especially Dena's right now....I can't imagine what she is going through...yes, people do have a right to their opinions but I also feel, in this instance that the more prayer, the more positive energy we send their way that Emma WILL heal ... why clog things up with opinions and negativity right now? Lets keep the Positive prayer and power flowing their way!!!

I completely agree with you in all that you said!!! Those of us that have kept up with this thread from the begining know that the odds were against this sweet little angel. She went from not having a drop of food from the momment she was born, until she reached Dena's arms. With Dena's help, she has been feed, kept warm, and now has a chance at a normal life. Sure there have been struggles, and we've seen Dena have to go through ups and downs to help little Emma. Dena was so kind as to allow us to go through this journey with her, and gave us a chance to "peek" into her house so we could have a looksee at baby Emma. None of us here on this thread know for a fact that Emma is a goner, or that she is suffering it is all mere speculation. The only one physically present at Emma's side is her new mommy. Dena is the only one that can judge things fairly, and with God to guide her, I think she's done what's best for little Emma.

Don't worry Dena!! You still have some of us that will cheer you on and send you and Emma prayers so that all will turn out well. Sending extra love and prayers your way to help you and Baby Emma.

Some opinions are best kept to yourself especially when you know there is deep love, compassion and devotion invovled. For the sake of your opinion was it worth hurting other people who are deeply in love with this little angel. Dena has been sacrificing herself for the well being of Baby Emma. We as a group have been cheering her on and are committed to support her in doing everything possible to keep Emma alive. She has made it this far and is a real tough little girl. If you took the time to watch her on the live feed you would see how well she is getting around and how much she grows everyday. Soon her little eyes will be open and we can hardly wait. I agree God is a God of miracles and as far as I'm concerned Emma is a miracle already and Dena is an angel sent from God to take care of her. She's an amazing person.

Dena...please don't allow these comments to get to you. You are doing what's best for Emma. Hugs to you and a big kiss to Emma.
