I am glad that she is a part of your whole family! I assume you have children?

I can't think of a better way for a child to witness how miraculous life is and fragile, too. Include the importance of how doing everything we can to preserve and protect, and you have a most wonderful lesson.

I was away for the weekend and had a lot of catching up to do. I am so happy she is continuing to gain and what an exciting surprise to see those little eyes! The news about the surgeon is beyond fantastic!

I'm so excited!! The surgeon has agreed to meet Emma just as soon as she returns from Houston!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!

Here is an email I received from the Doc.......... which includes the first response FROM the surgeon - TO the Doc (and then fowarded to me)

<<<<<<<<<(this is the Surgeon) wow. I did get tears in my eyes. That music! I would love to see her. I'm going to send this to another doctor as well, he's an awesome surgeon/dentist (double boarded!) in Virginia, and he's great. I'll see if he has any initial suggestions, etc, too
(this is the Doc) She will be back in Next Sunday at 6 pm -- lets get you over here with her and see what she has found out.>>>>>>>>

And just now, Doc sent me another forwarded response... this one is the surgeon to the doc...

There's some very good surgical descriptions of the surgery options that I have, actually kind of complicated but fun. You have to make a series of flaps and shift and put them in their new places, in order! secondary cleft palate I've had more experience with-you have to have NO tension!. I suspect the reason(s) the first surgeries may have failed are failure to remove tension, freshen edges (mucosa to mucosa), may traumatizing the surgery? Generally I've tried to get the little guys as big as possible, but that's not always doable. I'll know more when I see Emma. Thanks! >>>>>>

I'm so EXCITEDDDD Dena!! I can't wait for the surgeon to get back and you and Emma go in to see him. Sounds like he knows his stuff just by reading the above Email! Keep up the awesome job you're doing Dena, and Punkin Butt, you just keep on hangin in there and growing bigger and stronger everyday, the help you need will come.

I am so very happy at this wonderful turn. It has been a long hard battle but things are definitely on the upswing and Emma's future is looking so bright.

I can't tell you how very much this has all affected me. Right now, my heart feels about to burst with happiness and elation.
