I just called to ask an ER vet at what a get a chi pup normally gets teeth but they couldn't tell me. Been researching it on the net but haven't been able to find anything just yet.

Baby teeth normally begin coming in between 3 and 4 weeks of age... which is why I'm a lil' freaked since she's 13 days old.

There HAVE BEEN human babies that were actually BORN with teeth... so I know it's not totally outrageous... just wonder what's causing such early development and how it will affect Emma's progress. (I'm thinking they'll have to take them out... but just guessing on that...)

Yes, a friend of the families human baby was actually born WITH teeth, never caused any issues but that's a skin child, not a furchild. I wouldn't worry about it until the vet or surgeon says it's something to worry about, Lord knows you have enough to worry about already. Are they poking into her lower gums or anything? I don't think I'd really put anything in there though, I'd be to afraid of her swallowing it and choking. I'm sure if they become an issue the surgeon will remove them if need be.

They don't seem to be bothering her at all.... because her cleft is open again, her ..... how do I explain this.... ummm.... her gums in the front are split... and that part of her mouth just sort of separates and lays down over the bottom part of her jaw / gums when she closes her mouth.

So, no poking or anything that I can tell.....

I was.... I did.... she's in my lap right now and, I still am..... lol

But happy tears I know that so many of us here (me included) honestly wondered if she'd really be with us through ANY of her "first's".... so this is an amazingly special milestone... for ALL of us!!!

Thank you all for helping Emma to get to where she is... and to wherever God leads her to be!!!

I am shocked that she has those little teeth coming in already. I read what others said, even about human babies being born with teeth....I never heard of THAT either. You learn something new every day if you are paying close enough attention
