If you feel that way that is your right, but not everyone shares your opinion. According to the thread, she wasn't just wanting one...she'd signed a contract to buy it and backed out because she second guess the breeder. At the very least, people deserve to have that information and decide for themselves. The same concerns people have now are the same ones that MANY brought up before that went unanswered.

Dena, I think I would do exactly the same things you are doing. Only you can know what is best for Emma because you are the only one with her. The rest of us are miles away.

Just my two cents.

I think Bama was most concerned with new people being asked to donate and not knowing the full story
I wasn't specifically referring to Misty at all- my impression was that was the general concern of some.

I didn't receive the PM and actually didn't even know about it but it sounds like something YTers would do being very generous people.

ETA- I'm really not trying to force explanations or create any more drama. I just wanted to point out I am not so super trusting- anyone can look at the old threads and see that- I'm sure Dena hated me. I just didn't get that feeling this time.

I didn't take it that you were referring to me specifically at all. I don't think Chachi meant it that way...just trying to clarify it more than anything. I saw your comments when I reread the 18 page thread again yesterday and knew exactly what you meant. I wasn't going to respond to you as I knew what your intentions were, but thank you for being open minded and at least understanding where some people are coming from even if you don't agree with it.

I'm sure that's exactly what it was...people trying to be generous. That's what worries me.

Many people donate because of a particular situation...it is human nature (usually) to want to help. Emma's situation has touched many people's hearts. They are not giving away their life's savings; just something to maybe help the situation and feel good about what they did. Hopefully, not everyone is cynical enough to believe that there are ulterior motives to the care given to Emma and any subsequent donations. People who complain about the small things are probably the same ones who donate to rich political campaigns.

Donating to political campaigns...nah, I think both candidates stink. Oh yeah, the fact that I'm NOT rich probably plays a small factor there too... Hopefully not everyone IS cynical...but hopefully everyone IS cautious, regardless of the situation. Yes, it is human nature to want to help--I think all anyone on either side here is trying to do is "help"--the interpretation of what that is is what differs. If people feel good about what they do, then there is certainly no harm in that!

People are going to donate to what they want to donate to that is understandable. The older members have seen past threads and can decide for themselves. I think the newer members have a right to know everything before donating

Dena, I wish nothing but the best for you and Emma. I think you are a very special person with a big heart.
My EXACT thoughts and feelings. If someone knows and could PM me also, I'd greatly appreciate it. I really do care.

I usually do not post to threads like this one but I have to say this whole thing saddens me.

Has anyone stopped to think what would have happened to Emma if Dena hadn't taken her in? The kids that had her wouldn't have known how to feed her or take care of her and she probably would have died. I think what Dena did was commendable, driving to get Emma to save her and then all of the time she has spent nursing Emma. The fact that she is eating, gaining weight, and moving around is much more than she would have done under the original owner's care.

Reading what Dena has described from the vets, I think she has been doing an excellent job and all she can be expected to do. When she first got Emma, she didn't even know if she would last the day, let alone several. She just wanted to give Emma the chance to survive and grow that she didn't have with her original owners because of their lack of knowledge.

As for those posters with questions, I think it is fine to ask questions but you might want to read what you write before you post. Some of the questions that were posted on here were argumentative right from the start and made people defensive. They may not have been intended to be that way when the poster wrote them but that is how they turned out.

Also, I don't think anyone went out and tried to get donations for Emma. Those of us that had posted to this thread were just made aware that if we wanted to donate, here is where we could send our payment. From what I know, many people wanted to donate before anything was set up and they were told no at the beginning. I for one thought about donating before I did and I sincerely wanted to help Emma so I did make a donation--which has now been returned to me.

That is what makes me sad--that something that started out with the best of intentions has now turned into something negative.

Sorry to vent but I needed to say this.

I wasn't aware of all the past problems, I truly just wanted to know when the dog was scheduled for a "follow up visit." Some of you are anxious to have updates, and that is the sort of update I was interested in. I wanted to see what the doctors would say. I personally can't imagine a doctor not wanting to see the dog at some point after surgery, and just wanted to know when his next scheduled appointment was. I got very suspicious when questions were meant with such hostility. I'm glad we have members who stick their heads out on a limb and warn other members to be cautious. It takes lots of reading to learn why people are upset about all this, but it was less than a year ago, right after she joined, Mom2BabyNatalie had another EXTREEMLY EMOTIONAL thread requesting donations. Members donated generously with many members making and selling things and giving all the proceeds to Dena, what exactly happened with all the money makes people leery. When someone comes on forum and requests money, they should be ready to answer questions. What would keep a person from obtaining a special needs dog, and using the dog to encourage donations? I know that this would be a horrible thing to do, but if YorkieTalk didn't have rules, this forum would be a hunting ground for scammers. Mom2BabyNatalie is an extremely good writer, and she knows how to use words in a compelling and dramatic fashion, no doubt people are drawn in to her problems, and of course if you wish to support her efforts, I'm sure you can, but some members felt that they would like to protect some of the truly kind hearted and wonderful people that this forum attracts, and I hope you take this post in the manner in which it was intended.

If members want to be truly above board, and above suspicion than perhaps donation requests can go directly to the vet and hospital where the dog is treated, and not to PayPal accounts.

regardless of all the drama going on in this post, we have all seen the photos of this little pup and my hope is that what ever is going on with Dena and her intentions that this little pup is being taken care of. My prayers still go out to emma and I hope that at some point I hear how she has pulled thru all of this.
