| Time to get your pipes cleaned! Who has taken a colon cleansing pill and if so, which one did you take and how did you like the results?

| I've often thought about doing that too. I read and hear about different experiences but I'd like to hear testimonies outside the actual site of the cleansers and if they are worth the money

| I personally think that doing a liquid detoxifying cleanser would be more beneficial. You can get that type of thing from health food stores and Vitamin Shoppes also carry a variety of things for cleansing. |

| I think that every since I have looked into getting a colonic cleansing done...it seems like more and more the rave is becoming on colon cleansing and all the different pills.

| funny you should ask! I am very sluggish due to my thyroid issues. So, i had researched and came up with my choice to do the dr natura program. I will post the link later but lemme tell you I was really scared but i have been doing it a week and i feel awsome! I am sleeping better, i have more energy during the day and my brain is more clear. So far i am just doing the Colonix part of the program. I take 2 paranil capsules in the am before anything else with tons of water. paranil is a combination of herbs that kills worms and parasites. I know it is not nice to think of but we all have them. the second part before breakfast i take the colonix which is a psyllium based powder that you put in juice stir and drink. NOT unpleasant. it is a much higher grade than metamucil. Then at night ..as i am doing now.. i am drinking a yummy tea called Keri tea. By morning you are ready to go. I never have to rush to the bathroom and have not had any unpleasant cramping. It is amazing really. Now about the other part. I am starting the toxin out part tomorrow. it is designed to clean your kidneys and liver of toxins built up over the years. you take the pills with lunch and then some green food to help put the good nutrients back in....and then before bed some probiotics to help reestabish your good bacteria in your gut that keep you healthy. YOU HAVE to visit the photo gallery. Yes it is not pleasant but really eye opening. It has taken you years to build up all that stuff in there clinging to your intestinal walls. it is holding toxins and pesticides and antibiotics you consume when you eat foods. Ok ok i could go on for days.. but here is the web site Colonix Colon Cleanse Official Site by Dr Natura |

| That is one of the brands that I first saw. I too have a thyroid problem and have been at my wits end with the doctors. I do believe that alot of our problems are because of the foods/drinks we consume... Its especially nice to hear from someone in the same boat as I am with the thyroid. It is hard to comprehend the fatigue and whatnot if your thryroid is working fine...

| I have been eating an anti inflammatory diet because i was having a lot of joint pain. I dont eat red meat, anything white like potato or rice. I eat tons of whole grains like quinoa, brown rice etc. i eat organic when i can and have tons of fresh raw foods. I already take 50 million units of probiotics. I try not to eat sugar or substitutes but will have splenda with coffee. My joint pain is totally gone. I havent had any asthma issues either. This should prevent coronary artery disease too, Dr Natura works and is def worth the cash I just bought one month worth. You are supposed to do it at least 3 months a year, I may do it 3 on and 3 off. it is awesome! ps i usually drink my 8 glasses of h20 also |

| Sorry this is long but helpful! Quote:
I had pneumonia in Feb 08 and had to take a medrol dose pack. i think the steroids started to mess with my thyroid again. I was really really sick..not energy and i couldnt think straight. my doc tested my tsh and it was off the charts high. so he wanted to retest it before he started any meds. i had been diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis around 2004 i think and was developing a small goiter. it was only the size of a quarter and slightly noticed by touch. So the US showed i had a nodule in the isthmus, central part that connects they two lobes of the thryoid together. the doc started my on Levoxyl to supply my body with the needed hormone and this would prevent my goiter from growing. my thyriod wasnt producing enough hormone so it grew more hormone secreting tissue (goiter) to keep up with my body's demands. So the goiter went away and my body normalized and i was weaned off. my internal med guy said that suppression was old school and he didnt think i needed it. I was great for about 2 yrs until the steriods but i had to have them because my eardrums were bulging and my airway was closed and i was just miserable. I was on anitibiotics for about a month. At the end I was left feeling rotten. So i started a 2 part physical with my internist. this is when they found the elevated tsh. so he sent me for another ultrasound of the thyroid which showed my nodule had grown from 9mm in 2004 to 1cm in 2008 and the radiologist recommended a biopsy So i tried and tried to schedule that at my hospital and the radiologist that was scheduled to read my biopsy said he did not think it needed to be biopsied! So no i have to see what the internist has to say. I was scheduled for f/u when my dh had the chest pain issues last week! I guess i am in limbo now.. BUT the good new is I did a yeast cleanse a few weeks ago and now with the colon cleanse I have tons of energy and can work all day without feeling like i was near death the next day. also after i did the yeast cleasne my tsh was back to normal!!!!!!!!! I do believe your gut is the most important factor in health. Everything starts there. There is a great book called The Maker's diet that explains all about why the gut drives all other body functions. As far as the anti-inflammatory diet...well I cant SAY enough about it. what we eat either nourishes or destroys our tissue. An AI diet will help with joint pain and destruction as well as help with asthma and coronary heart disease!!! these are all inflammatory processes!! Any one with questions about either just let me know! Last edited by FL Tink; 06-12-2008 at 06:56 AM. | |

| I just don't believe that all that stuff builds up in your intestines. If you have ever had a colonoscopy, you can see that with 48 hours of liquids only, your intestine is clean as a whistle.....Not a speck of anything. |

| But then again they are only looking at the colon (large)! Not your intestines(small). |
