|  I have a Diamonique ring from QVC that I wear for fashion and it looks like the real thing and I get lots of compliments. It is set in white gold and cost about $150

| Just wanted to say..GOODLUCK with your future plans!  When my hubby & I got engaged (15 years ago!) he bought me a ring from a Jeweller friend that was closing down his shop so he got a good price...then when we were getting married (we were only 20!) we couldn't afford an expensive wedding ring for me..so my hubby got one of his rings he didn't wear anymore and had it melted down and made into my wedding ring...means much more to me than any expensive ring.

|  I always look at the rings on QVC. I have been toying with idea of getting once because of travel. I don't like traveling by myself with my real rings. I have even gotten just a plain gold band for that purpose. Good Luck!

| I have seen so many pretty engagement rings on QVC (diamonique) I would wear a "fake" engagement ring for 20 yrs and not be bothered at all if the real one never came,as long as Im married to my hubby. honey you have a man who loves you and a relationship that some people never get to experience...who cares if the ring is a diamond or not  go find yourself a pretty ring that you love...diamond or not

| why go for a diamond at all? i love the look of a beautiful ruby or emerald (or sapphire-or any gemstone) with a few small diamonds then a band under it all.. the color really catches your eye! if i could do it over i would get a ruby or beautiful emerald...

| I just read on a celeb website today in fact, and was going to check it out (but haven't yet) there's a website called Engagement Rings, Diamond Rings, Diamond Engagement Rings What I read sounded amazing, but sure worth checking out.....

| Thank you so much for your advice everyone! I think the best idea so far has been to see if Kay Jewelers can replace the diamonds in the ring I've picked out with CZ. If not, there is a ring on QVC that I LOVE! I passed the ideas on to Blake and he seemed mildly interested so that's a good sign!  I think he's feeling a little down about not being able to afford the real deal. Belive me, I am reassuring him that it's not the ring that I'm after!

| You can also try Bidz.com- they have a lot of really nice jewelery for much less than in the stores. We looked there when we bought my wedding set just couldn't find what I wanted at the time. My mom has purchased many rings from the site and have had them appraised at equal or higher value then they quote. The only thing that I would be aware of is the quality of diamond that you are looking at. Educate yourself a bit before buying. Who wants a beautiful ring that has a terrible diamond inside? anyhows, thats my two cents..... |

We've shopped together, we've picked out the ring and he's even been saving money for it ( I know this because he blurted it all out the other night) but now that money has to go to paying rent and bills. Another YTer suggested finding an exact replica of the ring I want in cubic zirconia. I think this is a great idea and I am completely fine with having a "fake" ring for awhile. I'd be happy if he gave me a twisty tie ring, as long as he's proposing!
