| ![]() How do you make brisket? I am wanting to a really good tried and true recipe for this sunday, since my mom was out of town last sunday for mother's day I am going to surprise her with a brisket lunch/dinner.. so I would appreciate any help on this thanks! ![]() |

| ![]() I love brisket!! Did you know that so many people I talk to up here in yankeeland doesn't know what brisket...or okra is? Crazy! My mom has a great recipe for brisket...sorry I know this doesn't help you.

| ![]() This is a recipe that I use: Barbecue Brisket 5-6 lbs. beef brisket Salt3 oz. liquid smoke Pepper Celery salt Worcestershire sauce Garlic salt 6 oz. barbecue sauce Place brisket a baking bag. (Do not cut holes in it yet.) Pour liquid smoke over meat. Generously sprinkle meat on both sides with celery and garlic salt. Close bag; place in refrigerator overnight. When ready to bake, sprinkle both sides of meat with salt and pepper and a little of Worcestershire sauce. Now cut some little holes in the bag. Bake 5 hours in 275 degree oven. Cool meat completely; slice. Place in a foil line pan; pour 6 oz. of barbecue sauce over meat. Uncovered continue baking 3/4 to 1 hour.

| ![]() well I called my boss and he suggested this : Get some heavy duty foil, season brisket DO NOT cut off any fat off ... then cover it in onion medallions all over front and back...foil it very good in heavy duty foil then stick it in the roaster at 400 for about 2 .5 to 3 hrs turn over after this time and reduce heat to 350 for another 3 hrs... then take it out of the oven and open the foil and let it sit for about 1 hr.. then slice it with a electric slicer against the grain and then add your BBQ sauce and you can stick it back in the oven for a little longer? What do you guys think? My mother in law does this overnight .... by the way its about 12.5 lbs of regular brisket I am making since the party is for 15 ppl and its supposed to be 2 ppl per 1 lb....jeez.. this is alot of work!!! |
