I have had a German Shepherd dog in my life since I can remember my dad has always had one.. Love them.. last year guess what kind of dog ran out from a random house and attacked Bailey.. yep a GS.. do I blame all GS's now..no. It happens.. all dogs can be aggressive, I've seen Bailey do it..more than once.

I think it is how the dog is raised.. and the circumstances.

We had a german shepherd when I was a baby/toddler named Boots. Family legend goes he attached himself to me when I was born, slept by my crib guarding me, once I was older my mom could say, go get Nikki, and he would run and herd me into my mother. A big old sweetheart. Within the last few years I read an article that said the number one dog bites of children- german shepherds.

I kind of wrote it off as families are probably just more likely to own them making it statistically more probable. I don't really know but the one thing that always worries me about pits is that I've always heard they were bred for fighting. It seems unrealistic to expect a dog to be completely different than what we humans in all our wisdom have bred them to be.

Unpredictable.....can Be Gentle And Loving, But A Powerful Dog Like That Can
Be Dangerous To People And Pets Just Because Of Its Size And Strength. I Would Not Trust Them Around A Small Dog Like A Yorkie. Also, Here In The U.s, Your Homeowners Insurance Company May Not Write Your Policy If You Have A Pit. When We Changed To A New Company An Inspector Came To Measure The Home And Check It Out. My Yorkie Was Barking Like Always When
The Doorbell Rang And I Jokingly Said To Him That I Had To Get My "attack Dog" Into The Other Room. About A Month Later I Received A Letter From The Company Stating That I Had To Prove What Breed Of Dog I Had Or They Would Cancel My Policy. Instead, We Cancelled Them!!! And Went With Another Insurer At A Better Premium. I Guess The Idiot Inspector Couldn't Recognize A Joke Or The Yapping Of A Little Dog Vs A Big Dog.

Your right and thatk-you for posting that! I have been under stress lately and I guess that post just sent me looking for a fight. Sorry yorkiekist! (Wow that was actually hard! but I really am sorry! Never underestimate the wrath of a PMSing teen lol!)

And believe me, I share your pain.

I'm 15. I love coming on here because I enjoy being surrounded by people who don't act like mindless fools, you know what I mean? I love high school, but the kids are so ridiculous sometimes its not even funny.
