| What a crappy day! I need a big hug! As most of you know hubby and I have been house hunting and found a house we fell in love with. The buyer accepted our offer and we thought we had the financing easily wrapped up. Our credit is great, good income, everything. Then they tell us we need $10,000 just sitting in our bank account. That is just darn near impossible for my family right now. I know the economy sucks but gosh! They are never going to get out of this crisis if they don't even loan qualified buyers money. Top it off the loan officer treated us like dirt. That's what is really bothering me. I've banked at this bank since I was 9 and had a savings account, I've never met such a bunch if snotty people in my life. Once we told him there was no way we could come up with that money in a month, he asked if we had relatives we could borrow it from. None of our family has that just waiting for someone to use. We simply stated nobody we knew had that kind of money right now. Hubby proceeded to tell him it just wasn't going to work and then as we were leaving he said, once you find your rich uncle you give me a call. My parents were amazed at how he handled it. Also, the loan officer smelt like ciggarette smoke so bad it about made you sick. I think I will be going down there to cancel my account tomorrow. There is just no need for that and I refuse to be treated like that. Okay I'm done venting, now I need my hugs. LOL

| So sorry you had that happen to you. It really is so hard to spend money these days! It is amazing that there is no customer service any more. Have you tried other financial companies? I don't know if it would help of if he could do anything (we're in MD) but our mortgage person is a friend of ours and is with a very large company. If you are interested, pm and I will give you his name. Hope you can work things out.

| The man at the bank was the vice president so I don't think we would get much done by reporting him in. That's the bad thing about working at a locally owned bank. I've just about had it with working with banks right now. Nobody is going to lend anybody any money. I'll wait for this stupid crisis to be over. I guess having a good job and good credit doesn't matter anymore.

| They are probably grouchy by now because they probably had a million people jump all over them because of the same reason. I do know that one of the Mortgage company's sent every single person who has mortgaged a home with them, a letter stating that they are not giving out any more equity loans. We have always felt secure in the fact that we have quite a bit of equity built up to borrow from just in case we ever needed it, so we called the company to see why we got such a letter and was told everyone got the same letter, but we could get an appraisal done and get accepted. So the cost of the appraisal was $350.00. Kind of silly just to get approval. So you see, your not alone in the problems that are going on these days with home buying or borrowing. Just wait it out and try again when things start to climb again! |

| It's not fair they are making good buyers pay for everyones mistakes. I told hubby that we will be living in this apartment forever. I don't want to rent the rest of my life, neither does my husband. For the moment we have no other choice.

| What a rotten deal. Is the bank local, which one. I know loan officers can be snotty. They should not treat people like that. We went through regular mortgage company and not the bank. You might want to look into that.

| I would report him to the President of the Bank. There is no excuse for rudeness. There is always someone with more authority. You just have to dig a little deeper to find them sometimes. I don't think that the bank officials would approve of his behavior.

| Im sorry that this is not working out for you. I'd definately try another bank or credit union even (they can be a little more lenient on things like that). With the recent fall of Bear Stearns most banks are tightening the purse strings no matter how the gov is trying to help by lowering the rates to encourage borrowing. Its a stinky market right now (((HUGS))) to you!
