The reason I said poor kid is because how confusing would it be for one of your mothers to tell you she is your Dad and she gave birth to you...sorry I didn't clarify.

That poor kids is going to be so messed up. I am very very liberal but when you decide you want to become a man, then you want to have a baby and carry it then you are being completely selfish, which isn't what motherhood is about. Adopt, hire a surrogate, let the "mother" carry the baby, don't do this to a child. It breaks my heart.

Yes, two parents that love a child is a wonderful thing but that is NOT what this story is about. It's just plain sad.

I agree 100% she is a she who's mind is a he. Kind of smart in a way, look at all the attention and $$$$$$ she's getting out of this. You don't go on talk shows for free. Brittney better step it up, this will be in the news for at least 9 months.

If this was just about having a baby, we would have never heard about it, but it's not, it's all about how much they will pay to put it on their shows. That's daytime TV for ya.

I agree that the media shouldn't be making a big deal about it ,there is no scientific discovery going on here on anything. He's a woman and women can have babies.
THe news are covering the whole story but when they mention that he was born a woman they are saying it like a comment on the side, not something important... whatever it takes to get people to watch their shows, huh!?

Perhaps everyone should do some research on transgender issues. Just a suggestion.

And maybe the reason they are coming forward with it now is to raise awareness on all the issues involved (transgender, conception, parenting, diversity).

I'm willing to bet the only problems that child will have is that of an ignorant world.

It isn't the medical community touting this "rarity"...it's these two people...because it isn't rare for a woman to get pregnant.

Not at this point. The beard was hormonely induced...to sustain the pregnancy requires female hormones. I'm willing to bet...to achieve the pregnacy itself...required going off the hormones.

Yep... Your right... I watched last night and thats what they mentioned. He/She had to stop taking the hormones to be pregnant...

And apparently, he/she did have a sex change several years ago... however, still kept the reproductive parts...
