| You know what I would get? A stun gun. you can go on EBAY and for about $40 you can get a 900,000 volt stun gun smaller than a cell phone. It's in a little black case like a cellphone and you don't even have to take it out of its case to use it. Sometimes mace just doesn't work but I guarantee you, this kind of stun gun would! I've been eyeballing them here recently and plan to buy me and my two daughters one. They are perfect, people think they are cell phones and would never know what it was until its too late. |

| Wow, I am glad that you and the girls are all right. Scary. I had a similar situation when I lived in New Orleans. I was walking my neighbor's dog back from a play date with TJ. The people across the street had a meaner than hell pit bull. The kids opened the gate as I was across the street, and out she charged. I had to scoop up a 55 lb Akita, and hold him over my head. That dog tore my shirt, and ripped my pants. I was terrified, and told the kids they had 3 seconds to get the dog under control before I started to fight back. They did so, and I scooted out of there, still carrying the dog over my head (that must have been a sight.) So I can empathize with the situation. Glad you spoke up about it. Not all pits or pit mixes are bad dogs, but all still have an genetic propensity for dog on dog aggression. I keep a very close eye on TJ when he is playing with other dogs, or meeting them for the first time. So far, no issues. He just growls and gets huffy if he does not like a dog...or if someone gets up in Stanford's face!

| OMG...Thank god you and the girls are alright! How scary!! I carry a whistle when I walk with my girls by myself. Last summer I was walking the girls by myself and a neighbors doberman was outside by himself and charged us....I almost wet my pants..I was so scared. I scooped up the girls and turned my back on him and blew my whistle. I cringed waiting for that first bite. His owner came running out of her house apologizing, saying she didn't know how he got out. I don't walk that way by myself anymore.

| V I am so glad that the girls and you are ok from that very scary encounter. Getting pepper spray is a really good idea. Even for you to have without the girls. My son's friend almost got mugged in a parking garage as she got out of her car and she pepper sprayed the guy and he ran off. So I think you should carry that with you at ALL times. I can't understand why that woman would not have had her dog on a leash. P.S. I'm glad your BUTT is still intact.

| OH NO V!!! I am sooo sorry to hear about this!! I hope something is done because that is just wrong on the owners part! I would definitely look into getting some little cans of pepper spray or mace and make sure you have one on you at all times. It is so frightening to have a large dog run at you! Those poor girls!!! I am just glad that you were all okay!! I agree, that any dog (big or small) can cause damage....I know when Katelyn was younger, a friends rat terrier bit her (hard) and was intent on doing more if I hadn't of knocked him off of her. And this was a dog that had been around Katelyn lots of times too! And just last week, we took Mojo and LG to visit some friends that had their two big dogs w/ them (one is a fat lazy lab)...all the dogs got along and later in the afternoon, Mojo was laying by my fat and the fat lab, for some reason, snapped at him and had his little head in her mouth (thank the good Lord that she didn't bite down on him).....I don't know how long or what happened, all I remember is her growl, and seeing Mojo in her mouth and then Mojo in my arms. I'm saying....any dog, even the ones you know, can do damage too...it is scary to even think about it!! I think we all need to invest in some mace!!!!
