Donating YT 7000 Club Member | I'm not trying to start anything, cause I know that you and V had nasty expierances. But I just want to point out that ALL dogs can do serious damage -- small dogs can kill other dogs and can seriously injure a kid, and big dogs...we know. Its not fair to discriminate against big dogs. That's all I'm saying.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Villette I can't imagine how scary that was for you. Having 4 now I don't think I will ever walk all 4 together as I could not grab all in a second. Also, my pom is a barker and seems to set off big dogs. When are people going to reealize they donot have the control they think they do over these dogs, not to mention they could get hit by a car running loose. So glad you and the girls are all ok.

| OMGosh, Villette! I'm so glad to hear that you and your sweeties are okay and not attacked! Darn those people who let their dogs off leash! I don't know how you and Cheri and Chanel were able to stay calm! If it happened to me, I'm sure both my dogs would be growling and barking! Thank goodness you saw the pit in time to get your girls picked up. Those dogs can sneak up on a person without warning! I've had some close calls with Maddie and have learned not to trust ANY big dog near my girls, even if the owner says their dog wouldn't hurt a flea. Pits aren't allowed in my city and I'm thankful for that. Hugs to you and kisses to the girls! I'm so relieved that you weren't hurt!

| Gawd! im v sorry for your bad experience too. I cant imagine, but that mama bear instinct kicked in and I do know that feeling. Im having a terrible time with hawks, but theres nobody to fix that prob! My hubby is a victim of a double pit attack! They are ruthless when they go, instinct in them is to KILL not just harm! So I would aim both barrels at that irresponsible pet owner and let it serve as notice to all the other "bad pet parents" that we can and will fight back for the sake of all the animals!Breaks my heart to see an animal suffer b/c their parents cant get their sh** together enuff to have a happy, safe, well balanced dog wether its large or small! Kudos to your quick action and GL in the fight! Elizabeth Duncan and Piper |

| Oh V I'm so glad you and the girls came out of that frightening experience ok. That could have been a disaster if you had not kept your head. It's amazing how cool ( on the outside only I'm sure) you were. Your heart must have been beating 100mi an hour. People are just plain DUMB or uncaring what happens to their pet or other's. I am glad your apt. complex is concerned and will look into the matter. I reported two pits loose in my development, however they did not charge at me, this time anyhow. I am waiting to hear from the board as well. Mace is a good idea for your walks. You can't be too carefull these days with so many unfit owner's not caring about their dogs going after someone. The all seem to think, NOT MY DOG! The really sad part is they are not protecing their own pet from harm. If that dog bit you or one of your babies, bye bye to it. How sad that it's owner did not protect it's safety and yours. Dumb people can't be educated I guess or just don't want too. Be safe V. |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | V...I'm so glad that you and the girls were unharmed! I would have called the police department and had a report filed. She should get into trouble for not having her dog on a leash. Thank God for angels...cause He definitely sent them your way!

| I bet your knees where shaking by the time you got back, huh ? How scary ! We dont have pits around here but plenty of other big dogs and it just scares the heck out of me, does not help Rosi and Apollo act like idiots when they see a big dog, they try charging them barking and screeching their fool heads off... very embarrassing....thank god most keep theirs leashed, exept if occationally gets one away or is lost. It is so hard to pick two up when and they are struggeling to get down ... glad you girls did not get hurt. Get some pepperspray ! And glad you reported them !

| I'm glad everything turned out ok!!!! I will say this...as someone that owns a property management company, I know that pitts, dobermans, rotts, chows and mixes of those breeds are almost ALWAYS banned from apartments because insurance will not cover the apartment complex with those types of dogs. I have not read the rest of the thread so I am not sure what the apt. complex said about this dog...but I would be very surprised if they are even supposed to be there!

| I'm glad you and the girls are ok!! You definitly handled it well, I would've probably panicked and started running around screaming like an idiot! Keep us posted on what happens with the owner. That's one thing I'll never understand is why people will allow an aggressive dog to be out with out a leash!
