I think I figured out tonight what might put people of where Jason is concerned. I personally find him adorable and talented in a quirky, laid back way. Jason really lacks social skills. He just has had no experience in anything like this. He's so out of his element. I don't know if the poor kid knew anything about Broadway. He doesn't have good communication skills and poor presentation skills except when performing. He is a typical college kid that's never bothered to explore anything outside of his own circle of friends. All of this I find quite endearing and makes me root for the underdog. I can't imagine how this exerience will help him mature. |
Diane, I think you've got a point. Something about his personality just really bugs me, I guess. He seems so unimpressed by everything when there are people who are DYING to have the opportunities he has. Maybe I'm just crazy or upset or something, but I just find him to be almost totally ungrateful for what the public has GIVEN him - or if he is grateful he really stinks at showing it. and plus, I just don't think he's that great of a singer. Maybe if he was more of a performer. He doesn't perform, he just sits there and sings. I mean, he's a good singer. If he was just some random guy singing somewhere, then I'd think he has an amazing voice. But he's on American Idol - alongside some of the best singers in the country - and I just don't think he's good enough. And last night just really...did him in for me. He totally destroyed that song, IMO. I'm all for people putting their own spins on things - but that was just a little crazy. I know that he didn't realize how big of a song he was doing. But if he was preparing to sing that song, then IMO, he should have been actually studying the SONG and what it IS, not just the music. |
In a way they really want to know who the audience thinks is popular and has talent even if they are wrong since they are the ones that will buy their DVDs and Videos BUT I just hate it when they are wrong. At least Syesha made it at the end :thumbup: |

while I have not been a Carly fan, I am dumbfounded by how she is gone & Brooke & Jason are still in and not even in the bottom 2. Carly was the better singer there - but inconsistent as are Brooke & Jason |

At this point I am not going to get upset over who leaves unless it is one of the two Davids cause I truly believe they should be the two left standing at the end of the show..someone has to leave every week to get to that point but I will tell you that if one of the two Davids leave befor the end there will be alot of screaming in this house.. I also think that Carly was so calm at the end is because someone has already contacted her for a record deal...jmo |

I really thought Brook or Jason would go. When I saw the bottom two I told my husband it would Carly. While I don't like tatoos that never stopped me for voting for her because she has a fantastic voice. I did not care for her last performance mainly because that is not my kind of music, too shoutie. At this point it comes down to who has the most fans and not necessarily who is the best vocalist. I really wish they had a system so people could not vote 20 times in one night for the same contestant. When I vote, I vote for all my favorites except the one I think needs to go. Sometimes I will throw in a couple extra votes for my favorite. I am looking for to next week because I really do like Neil Diamond. |
I have read that David A.'s father is kind of 'Stage Mom'. I get the feeling that he pushes David too hard and it has a negative effect on David. I think he is trying so hard to please his dad and not upset him, that it takes over his stage presence. He seems so nervous, the poor kid. |

We didn't watch it last night and I am shocked :eek: that Carly went home!!! She is a good singer...but this is about who is popular w/ the fans too, since they are the ones who casts the votes and will buy the albums...but STILL!!! I like Brooke...but her and Jason definitely did not do that well at all the other night:( Randy Jackson was on some show the other day and said it would be both David's in the end.....I am pulling for David Cook (if that is the case) because he brings something different.....(IMO) |

Megan, I've heard about his father. Lots of young people have parents like that and are seeing $$ signs. I almost wish he would be voted off so he could go home and be a kid. (I guess he has a record deal though) Is he 16 or 17 ??? you would never believe it would you. |
Joan, he turned 17 right after they got to Hollywood. I don't believe it at all. He's SO talented its crazy. and he would definitely have a record deal even if he got kicked off. Besides, since he's gauranteed a spot on the tour, its against his contract to sign a record deal with anyone else besides them for the next year. I don't get parents like that at ALL. Unless the kids makes the decision by his SELF that he wants to do it, there's no reason that a kid should miss out on being a kid for that kind of life. |
