Gerry funny you said you quit Ive smoked for many years, monday I ran out (usually dont I buy the cartons) I smoked the last one and said hmmmm you dont need these...COLD TURKEY as well havent smoked since 930am Monday. Everytime I think about a cig I say "you dont smoke anymore" and the urge goes away or I go get a carrot! so far so good!

Congrats on quiting.. I know how hard it is.. My dad has been a smoker for such a long time and finally after 1 heart attack and triple by-pass surgery, he stoped!! Good luck and i'll be praying hard for you

My husband just quit for up-teenth time and this is the best he's ever done. Since January 1!!) He's been eating Alot of sunflower seeds...I guess it takes his mind off it.

He does bum one when were out with friends who smoke but so far has come home and went back on the seeds.

i no how hard it is i gave up nearly 2 years ago i used very strong gum or mints when i realy wanted a cig, the most thing is determination and will power, half way through my lovely dad passed away but i still didnt touch a cig and I NEVER WILL AGAIN you can do it if you are having problems pm me and il try to take your mind of wanting one.
id smoked 40 a day for 25 years.

I think we are on to something here.... Go get the shoes!!! UGH! I am in LOVE with the Gucci Scorchi Clogs! They are the ones with the wooden heel and the half bit across the suede that goes across the top of your foot!They are going to be my next SLURGE!!!

I quit 3 1/2 years ago! (Wow, the time flies). My husband and I quit before we got married, as a gift to ourselves. It was the best thing I have ever done for myself. I feel so much healthier and happier too. It was (and still can be) very hard. On warm evenings I always think about how nice a cig would be. But then I start to think about all the negatives and I am sooo glad I quit. I can't believe I used to walk around smelling like smoke, now it makes me gag.

I totally agree that the hand to mouth motion, is an addiction too. Sometimes I'd grab a pen and take in a deep breath as if it were a cigarette, and honestly it felt so good. (Almost as good as a cigarette, because of the hand-to-mouth-take-a-deep-breath motion).

Good luck, I think it is great that you are quitting. And being an ex-smoker who used to smoke more then a pack a day, I can honestly say--- YOU CAN DO IT!! AND IT IS WORTH IT! Come chit chat whenever you need a little help.
