Ohhhh Villette! I wish I were there to hug you and be with you. I know you need all your friends right now. This must be so painful for you. Please stay strong and know we are all here for you, even if it's just through the computer!

Ok, I have a story for you that will give you a chuckle! You know how nutty I'am, right? lol
Well we were camping one night and hubby and I were sitting around the camp fire enjoying the fire. All of a sudden, here comes this animal and I stand up and say, ohhhh here kitty kitty..... For some reason I thought this was a cat, well the "cat" jumps up on our picnic table and takes our bag of marshmellows and jumps down and runs back into the woods leaving a trail of marshmellows behind. Well my kitty kitty was a raccoon!
My husband just laughed and laughed at me! Now everytime we go camping, he always is saying... I wonder if the kitty kitty will come and visit us!
I was just pissed that the lil sh&* took my marshmellows!

OK - I have a funny story about moving...with my first husband. Being a young couple you know money is always tight but I happened to see these two gorgeous pillows in this home decorating catalog and they were so expensive but I had to have them so I ended up getting two. Well when we were moving into our new home my ex-husband wanted to save money so we had a bunch of friends help us move with the truck and cars...needless to say I have never done that again. Well you know how tired everyone gets towards the end of moving so stuff just gets thrown every which way so with me not knowing since I was in another room the guys said OK - we filled the pick-up truck with stuff so we are off. I did my thing with the car and started on my way after them about 30 minutes later. Now I'm on the freeway and as I'm driving so happy to be moving...I don't know what made me look but on the side of the road I see this thing and I'm thinking to myself...boy does that look like my...OMG....it's one of my freakin expensive pillows. I just about died...here is my million-dollar pillow lying on the side of Interstate 480.

So I get to the new house and didn't say anything to the boys..hehehe....so I'm unpacking and put the one pillow on the sofa and say OK where is the other one...you should have seen their faces..cause they knew what happened - it blew out of the back of the truck onto the freeway. Then I couldn't contain myself and told them I saw my pillow on the side of the road. By then we all had to laugh....to this day I miss that dang pillow!!

You will always have these down times missing your husband, but they do end up less and less frequent and without the pain. I have a feeling this is not going to be your last move.

I also had a closet full of her clothes from when she came to visit me before she got really sick. I still have them all. I have decided that I am going to have quilts made out of what I can, and will donate the rest. I thought it would be nice to make a few quilts..one for me, one for my mom, one for my sister. I haven't even begun this process and it has been 5 years. I will one day tho. maybe if there are some things that you really don't want to let go of, you can do something like this...
A friend of mine did that with her husbands shirts and suits.

I have a cute story that's kind of sad just b/c of the main situation, but we all laughed so hard at it at the time. I was dating a Japanese guy and his brother had recently married his girlfriend of many years. She was this darling, sweet, tiny little Japanese girl named Keiko. Not too long after they got married, she started having stomach problems, went to several dr's, was finally diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer. She was only 28. That's the sad part. So, we all knew she wasn't going to be around for much longer and she knew it too. She'd gone to UCSF for chemo, and when she came home, she decided that since she was so weak and would be spending most of the remainder of her days either lying on the sofa (it was huge and we had it all made up for her so it was like a big bed) or in bed, that she'd like a sweet little puppy to lie next to her and keep her company. I thought that was a great idea, until we went over to visit and she'd gotten a Jack Russell puppy . The dog was SO cute, but here she was, lying on the sofa watching tv, and I said "oh he's so cute", and all she could say was "ohhhhhhhh...he's such a NAUGHTY dog", LOL. The dog was bouncing off the walls b/c he was so hyper and here she had this sweet, docile puppy pictured in her mind, LOL. All we could do was crack up. It's one of my favorite memories of my friend. I still laugh thinking about her and that puppy .

Love Villette!!

"V" Since my husband has only been gone 7 mos. I wanted to share this story with you. On the last day of my husbands life, my daughters and I were all sitting at his bedside. My husband moved a little, so I asked him if he was in pain. He opened his eyes and looked at me and said "Yes"! I said, "Where does it hurt?" He looked up at me and said, "My leg, You're sitting on it!" Then, after I jumped up, he started laughing, then we all laughed! I guess he figured we all needed to laugh for a change. He was a great guy, I miss him so much!
You're gonna get through this!!

That's a great story !! They all are - I can't reply to them all (been up since 4 am - then to work - then back home to finish the last minute stuff) I move tommorrow morning - I'm trying to get as much out as I can and store it at my moms...My poor girls saw me pack up SOME toys and just freaked - so much for being sneaky - nothing gets by them.

I spread their other toys out on the floor for them today and keep telling them I'll be back but man - I hate leaving them in a packed up, practically empty house they still have their little camp set up but they sure know something not fun is going on

Thanks for the well wishes everyone - I need them - it's been a long HARD few months but I'm trying to see this as a 'new' beginning

I don't have any funny stories, but I just want to wish you well in your move. My sister is moving with her DH and 2 large dogs today from Michigan to Kansas, and I am very happy for her, even though it has been tough. I myself have moved 9 times since I left my parents' home. I'm pretty good at it by now. And last time we moved, we downsized from 1000 sq feet to 800 sq ft, and that was hard, I can't even imagine what kind of cleansing you are going through. I have gotten better over time about getting rid of what I don't actively need or use, and I am glad that I have. We have cleaned out 3 different homes in the last few years of grandparents, and I can't tell you how much junk some people hold on to!

Lots of hugs and prayers for you V!!!
