I have decided that I am going to have quilts made out of what I can, and will donate the rest. I thought it would be nice to make a few quilts..one for me, one for my mom, one for my sister. I haven't even begun this process and it has been 5 years. I will one day tho. maybe if there are some things that you really don't want to let go of, you can do something like this...
A friend of mine did that with her husbands shirts and suits.

I have a cute story that's kind of sad just b/c of the main situation, but we all laughed so hard at it at the time. I was dating a Japanese guy and his brother had recently married his girlfriend of many years. She was this darling, sweet, tiny little Japanese girl named Keiko. Not too long after they got married, she started having stomach problems, went to several dr's, was finally diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer. She was only 28. That's the sad part. So, we all knew she wasn't going to be around for much longer and she knew it too. She'd gone to UCSF for chemo, and when she came home, she decided that since she was so weak and would be spending most of the remainder of her days either lying on the sofa (it was huge and we had it all made up for her so it was like a big bed) or in bed, that she'd like a sweet little puppy to lie next to her and keep her company. I thought that was a great idea, until we went over to visit and she'd gotten a Jack Russell puppy . The dog was SO cute, but here she was, lying on the sofa watching tv, and I said "oh he's so cute", and all she could say was "ohhhhhhhh...he's such a NAUGHTY dog", LOL. The dog was bouncing off the walls b/c he was so hyper and here she had this sweet, docile puppy pictured in her mind, LOL. All we could do was crack up. It's one of my favorite memories of my friend. I still laugh thinking about her and that puppy .
