| Forum Member Abuse To Each Other I am concerned about some of the comments that are being posted on this website. I think that it is good when we debate and talk about all the topics that are of concern to members on this site. What I do find alarming is the language and personal attacks that members and non members of the forum are experiencing from members of this forum. We are all entitled to have our own thoughts and views. The topics allow you a chance to share those views with others who share the same basic common thread- the love of the breed- the Yorkshire Terrier. What in the world is someone who is checking out the site going to think of the membership as a whole. They may be quite afraid of us. Is this why YTCA does not want its members to belong to such a forum? We can agree to disagree without becoming the Hatfield and the McCoys. There is no need for the posts to be cruel and unkind to others. In a discussion all are allowed to express the thoughts and ideas that you wish to share. Do I have the right to disagree- You bet I do. I will express my viewpoint. But you deserve to be treated with respect and so do I. Will you change my mind in the discussion- maybe- maybe not- will I change yours maybe- maybe not. But we do not need to start a civil war. The discussions allow us to thnk about certain aspects of a topic that we may not have thought of before. It is childish, unfair and unkind for these attacks to happen over a difference of oppionin. We also have those who follow the rules and will continue the assults by contacting you at your website or your email. This allows them to not get into hot water with the administration of Yorkie Talk because it did not happen on that website. Grow up and act like an adult. I am sure that if you had a child you would not allow this type of behavior to be shown toward them in school or in any venue. Bullying is unkind and should not be allowed in adults or children. | Good job Kathy! I totally agree and cringe even at the titles of some of the threads. I know we are not unaware of the intent of these posts. Sorry for the trouble ADMIN, it is not fair to you, either. When we feel like we have to take sides, I think the thread has gone out of control.

| I agree!! Kathy! You are so right. I personally don't like confrontation. I try to avoid it at all costs. I think when the attacks get personal the attention shifts from the topic being discussed to the individual(s) that are debating. We all have our passions and our views. I too have to remind myself to step back and take a deep breath when discussing a subject I feel strongly about. Thanks for bringing this up. I think it will make all of us think before we 'speak' and hopefully we won't lash out at one another. Hugs to YT!! Irene |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Well...Since I was one of the people on the puppymill thread - I didn't feel it was as much taking sides... as trying to stress that no MILL is good. It just so happens that it went against someone that defended them and I'd feel the same no matter who posted that. Nothing was meant personally to anyone - I think by the discussion - it shows how much we DO care. |

| True Villette - but there is a difference in attacking an opinion, or attacking the person. I think you stay on the right side of the line. I know puppymills are bad, but they are not alone. I have never eaten veal since I heard what they do to the little calves. Sometimes, I think about all the people who raise dogs in their backyard. They are worse than puppymills, just on a smaller scale. All they really need is a spay/neuter clinic that is affordable to a person who can't afford it; much less afford to take care of a litter of puppies. Many just take them to the pound or drop the litter off when they start eating.

| That's Kelly - I agree, it is sweet. I also think, after raising my puppy litter. I don't think a person could get a well socialized dog from a place like that. I play with my puppies all day long. I hold them and cuddle them and kiss them and rub their tummies and LOVE them. And they love me right back - I am just like their mommy I have seen wild kittens that are raised by their mother away from people. You can tame them, it's not easy, but they never make good pets like when they are raised initially by people.

| When I first joined YT, I was so excited to reply to threads. However, when you see a thread asking for an opinion, then you just opened up a can of worms. I have been brow beaten so many times for giving MY opinion, that I no longer reply to those "Opinion" threads. I agree that it's a shame that when a person asks for help and you get chewed out for it. If a person does not want help or an opinion, then Don't Ask For It.

| I did not mention puppymill Come on folks-- I did not mention your puppymill thread. I am talking about all the threads in general that have been posted that have a heated discussion. Let's try and keep it to the discussion I posted about. I want this to be a kind and gentler topic- that we try and set up some guide lines on what should and not be said. How to voice a differance of oppinion without is seeming as a personal attack and how not to take a differance of oppionin as a personal attack. wnalegria |

| Nice point. That is pretty much the reason why i havent posted pics of my pup yet. I appreciate everyones imput on where i was getting the pup (i wasnt really aware of puppymill and breeder b/c i never owned a puppy be4)........ but when i posted about size of the pup i wanted half the people had a cow on here. .....it really ALMOST made me NOT want to get a puppy any more the responses i was getting were a little retarded. So i had to take a little YT vacation. Jack <--------$ |
