| Well went for my first yoga class today. OMG it was not as easy as I thought it was going to be. I felt like the biggest spaz. I'm a little overweight but not by a lot, definitely out of shape. Well these women were literally crouching with both palms on floor and feet elevated . Needless to say I couldn't even get close to doing that. So for all of you who are doing yoga will it get better? I felt so out of place and dumb. The instructor says first time is never easy. I want to go back, but just not sure. Would appreciate any input Thanks girls....Priscilla

| Stick with it- it will get better! I have to pep talk myself because I'm a yoga spaz! I never knew how awful my balance was until I started yoga.

| I know exactly how you feel! I've been an aerobics instructor (in the past) and am a personal fitness trainer and former triathlete...and yoga kicked my butt! The good thing is, if you stick with it, it's like everything else....you really will get better! And it's really SO good for you! Don't feel bad and if the people in your class or the instructor tries to make you feel inadequate, find another beginner's class....you'll be glad you stuck with it!

| Donating YT 7000 Club Member | I know how you feel! In my school I do yoga, and I did it for a few weeks with my gym class. at first, it was so difficult and I also felt really out of place. But honestly, everytime you do it it gets better. It'll be gradual, but almost everytime you go you'll go to go into plank (for example) and realize that its easier for you to hold yourself up. Best of luck to you! If you feel really weird about it maybe you should look for a different class. Have fun!

| definitely stick with it! My first time was so awkward, and I felt like everyone else in the class, who had all been there before, were so much better. But I stuck with it and I now love Yoga. The peaceful feeling I feel after a session is just unmatched. I feel like I can conquer the world.. or at least be at peace with it, after a yoga session. |

| I've been doing Yoga for 7 months now and I love it. I have great flexibility but my balance sucks. There's this one pose called 'tree' and I constantly fall over. One of these days I'll get it. It does get easier tho. My body is stronger and I can hold the poses better. Just take it easy and don't overdo it.I injured my wrist last week in Yoga, I was in side plank and something twisted in my right hand/wrist. I hadn't been to Yoga in a month and I got over confident.

| Stick with it! Yoga is fantastic. I did it for a few years and loved it. I would leave class feeling in shape and calm. My job hours changed and so I stopped going. I miss it! This post has motivated me to find a new class. Thanks! |

, while the tree was going on I tried really hard but came close to falling on my rear end a couple of times. My MIL is a Reiki Master and aura and feeling of the class reminds me of her Reiki sessions with me. My girlfriend swears by it and I don't want to give up just yet. I'm not going down without a fight . My husband and I recently moved far away from our families and I've been feeling a little depressed lately because I miss them so much, so I figure I need to find something to occupy my time. Yoga seemed like a good thing to get into. We'll see what happens...Priscilla
