| Chantix I just started my Chantix today! I am sooo excited to quit smoking. Who has taken it and what did you think? Any advise? My mom tried it and it upset het stomach so she stopped. I can handle an upset stomach if it will just help me quit. She is trying it on her own now and is very miserable and jumpy so the upset stomach doesn't sound tooo bad in comparison.

I did it and you know what I have been smoke free since Aug 17 2007!!! You can do it Nikki I know you can. The only thing with me though is that I could not take the full dose. It really upset my Tummy. I also had to take it right in the AM right after I ate so I would not toss my cookies. I wish you all the luck in the world I know you can do it If I can And if you need anything let me know

| Thanks y'all! I've actually quit on my own twice before with no problem. The first was when my hubby and I decided to start trying for a baby. I stupidly started back when my daughter was 4 and quit again a few years later. Then I started AGAIN 3 yrs ago, God how stupid! I tried to quit again last Feb. and was a complete basket case. I am so ready to quit- I'm disgusting myself!

| I haven't tried the chantix yet but wondered how good it was? I have been quit a year in oct, I did mine with wellbutrin xl (close to zyban) & the committ mint lozenges. Trust me you will feel so much better, your skin will look so much better & you will actually taste the food you eat! plus my hubbie likes me smellin like bath/body works now instead of smoke! now if I can get my mom to quit (why I wondered about chantix) I am proud of you & if you need support I am here!!! |

My mom is such a nervous uptight wreck quitting on her own I figure an upset tummy has to be better than that. Plus maybe it will keep me from replacing cigarettes with food. I'm only planning on staying on it for the first month. Oops, almost forgot to say- CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I found that if I took 1/2 a pill a Day it helped and I took it Right after I ate. That was alot less than the 2 pills they recomend. And it did help. Being Smole Free Is the BEST thing I ever did Ever

| Thanks Niki it is so much more doable with the chantx than without! Ummm Please do the whole month if you can cause I did use food after I quit...still I haven't gain that much more. Although I was already over weight I can lose when I get ready...taking are of just one habit at a time is enough for me. |

| Good luck! I've heard a lot of good things about Chantix so I hope that you'll be successful. (Isn't a smoking vegetarian an oxymoron or something? )

| That's why I used the wellbutrin b/c it is supposed to help with the weight gain & help you not replace food cravings with smoking. Zyban (prescr. stop smoking pill) & the wellbutrin have the same factors in them but the wlbtrn is time-released & it has helped in alot of other ways also. But my husband said that as well he'd gladly take me w/15 extra lbs than skinny & smoking, my mom is real bad though & I want her to quit. I had a scare back in sept. & had to have a lump removed (turned out not cancer) & I thought that might would make her quit but it hasn't |
