| we don't choose for the entire country, but we do help narrow the field down. A guy or gal can come in here with just a bit of money & test themselves here & see if they can raise enough money to campaign & attract voters. Unfortunately, I think several very good candidates dropped out last night due to a lack of $ and ranking so low in the caucus. Those were democrats. I'm sure a few good republican candidates will soon do the same. It seems that it's all about the money, as far as who we get to elect for president. Because candidates without money pull themselves out, before everyone has a chance to see them. It is really too bad we can't elect the best person, not the best choice out of those with money. The other reason I don't think the first states choose the presidential candidates, is that anyone in the country can contribute to these campaigns, so just because the caucus was held here, it wasn't necessarily Iowa money that made it possible. There are still many candidates to choose from & who knows who will run as an independent - Ron Paul probably but who else, we don't have a say. All I believe is if you get a chance to vote in a primary - go do it!

| I see now. It's a shame it's all about the money. Because the candidates are representing those of us who don't have that much. Sigh. |

| Well actually the republican caucus winner in Iowa - Mike Huckabee - does not have a lot of money & he will need to keep winning & getting more money to make it all the way to Super Tuesday - which I think is Feb. 5. Also, he grew up really poor - he told a sweet little story on Leno the other night if you didn't see it. Actually, I think Huckabee may be the only one still running for either party that isn't a millionaire on his own right. Perhaps Richardson isn't either. Anyway, I recently read an interesting story about how much money these guys all make or have in the bank -- very telling. They are so wealthy & trying to lead a majority of middle income folks is really interesting. I'll have to see if I can find a link to that story. Then you have Hillary & Obama who each are suppose to have 100 million in current campaign donations.

| politics are my passion..i truly love most of it... i do HATE how much money is involved.. it is SICKENING.. it is ashame Joe Biden has to drop out... so much valuable experience..i have not made up my mind yet but it is really sad to see.. how are you supposed to get a candidate who really cares about me and my 7% student loan rate when they are focused on their bottom line of campaign donations.. my $25 donation is wasted by all the paper requests my candidate sent me asking for more... it is pretty sad when i (a 24 yr old girl with an accounting degree) am better versed in middle east politics and geography than some of the leading candidates.. well may the best person win god willing

| Mom to Marty & Maddie Donating Member | Wow, what an awesome experience! I watched the whole thing on TV with my hubby and another married couple, beginning to end. It got SO exciting too. Every time the percentage points changed, my friends and I just got more and more into it. How cool that you were able to be there! |

| I would love to see Obama and Huckabee win the primaries, because I think that would make for a very interesting, and also a very clean (without mudslinging) election year. Either way, this will be a very interesting election.
