we don't choose for the entire country, but we do help narrow the field down. A guy or gal can come in here with just a bit of money & test themselves here & see if they can raise enough money to campaign & attract voters.
Unfortunately, I think several very good candidates dropped out last night due to a lack of $ and ranking so low in the caucus. Those were democrats. I'm sure a few good republican candidates will soon do the same.
It seems that it's all about the money, as far as who we get to elect for president. Because candidates without money pull themselves out, before everyone has a chance to see them. It is really too bad we can't elect the best person, not the best choice out of those with money.
The other reason I don't think the first states choose the presidential candidates, is that anyone in the country can contribute to these campaigns, so just because the caucus was held here, it wasn't necessarily Iowa money that made it possible.
There are still many candidates to choose from & who knows who will run as an independent - Ron Paul probably but who else, we don't have a say. All I believe is if you get a chance to vote in a primary - go do it!
