I will update this thread periodically to let you know who has registered. So far, we have 5 confirmed registrations for dinner and 0 without dinner...

1. Sukoshis Gma
2. Suzy
3. kathy785
4. scrapindee
5. LuvMySissy

Each of these 5 people have gotten 5 free raffle tickets for being amongst the first 15 people to register! Remember, there's still 10 spots left to get the free raffle tickets, so register soon!

Gingergirlsmom 12-02-2007 07:07 PM

Okay...another question:rolleyes:

Did I see somewhere that a thread is being started for people who want to carpool, etc... or am I imagining things???

That was in the Southwest regional forum-I think!

Edit: is this what you were thinking of, or is there another one?

http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=105706

LOL I accidentally responded to this one, not realizing it was regional :)

Here is the thread about finding a roommate: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=105762

You could also post in your regional forum to find people in your area to carpool with

I have not started a thread about people carpooling, but as others suggested, if you are interested in carpooling, I think you'd have the most luck posting it in your regional forum. I doubt anyone from my area would want to drive that far  !

:yeahthat:
I think that is a great idea!!! That way, it will be easier for the committee to have a count and for everyone going to see who all is going and maybe who can ride together or meet up to follow together, etc.

I'll have to start working on hubby! Good job putting this all together, Lisa! I've done it locally for an international group and I know how much work it is logistically! Hope I can go:) .

What a great birthday gift to yourself!!! And what a nice way to spend your birthday, if you can come, with all of your YT friends!!!! :yay_jump: :justahug:

If the 2008 Meet Up goes well perhaps 2009 could be on the east or west coast and 2010 on the opposite coast and then 2011 back in the midwest somewhere! That way every 3 years most everyone would have a chance to participate. Just something to think about. :) :)

I think at one time, it was said (in hopes) that we could get the Three Dog Bakery to be a vendor...so maybe, that will be a great option too!!!

And as a side note:
I think before (in the planning stages) it was recommended to have a carrier or stroller for the doggies too for the shopping. But I am not certain.

I know those flying in will not have room for a stroller and will already have a carrier, so that will work out.

I'll definitely be taking my stroller..and probably a carrier too just in case I need it. I remember when I bought the stroller I didn't know why in the world I was buying it or what I would actually use it for - but OMG it is the best thing in the world. It is so much easier to put your dog in the stroller than to carry it around in a bag all day..much easier on my shoulder LOL. I LOVE my stroller

And I will probably bring an x-pen too for the park. I loaned it to a friend like a year ago and haven't gotten it back but hopefully I can get it from her

yougetthesmiles 12-03-2007 12:13 PM

- Registration Fee Schedule (without dinner):
- $30 per person if paid by January 1st
- $40 per person if paid January 2nd - April 15th

I believe that airlines do allow you to carry a stroller in addition to the standard handcarry luggage requirements . . unless of course that is only applicable to skinbabies  I will check the airline to make sure I can bring one . . .

Tiger's Mom 12-03-2007 12:53 PM

What time is check-out at the hotel. Just checked flights using mileage and my choices are either 6:50am  , 10:00am  4:00pm (but the layover in Minniapolis is too long) or 6:05PM. I am leaning towards the 6:05 flight . . .I can hit the shopping malls on sunday if there is noone to hang out with.

I looked at there website and it says 11 am...

I'll tell you what. They are going to make a Killing on all us with just the pet fee alone.
even if 4 people stay in a room with 4-8 dogs It will cost 350.00 bucks for 8 dogs WOW:eek:
I know I wont be able to bring all mine :(

coroth 12-03-2007 01:41 PM

 I just budgeted for this trip (I'm obsessed with lists, excel spreadsheets, and anything to do with organization!) and it's going to be WELL over $1000 for me to get down there, hotels, and just the bare minimum!! That really puts a damper on my hopes for making it...I have a monthly car payment and have to pay my own tuition...and I'm only making minimum wage at a job that only gives me around 8 hours a week. :( :( :( I hope this doesn't stop me from coming...I am really really looking forward to it. I actually asked for a stoller for Beau for Christmas just so it will be easier to go shopping and everything...

The plaza in KC is a great place to walk around, shop, dine, or lounge. There is an art museum with an enormous lawn where people hang out in the afternoon. You will be able to find things to do if you need to kill some time!

I was thinking the same thing earlier...they really are going to make a ton of money just off the pet fees. There will be more yorkies there than people!

You should look for someone to share a room with. I'm sharing with two other people so that cuts the hotel cost in half. We're also carpooling and splitting gas money.

Lisa - I was just checking flights on Travelocity and can get a direct flight from Ft Myers to Kansas City on Midwest Airlines. Would there be a problem if I also booked my hotel room through this site?

BTW - just wondering if anyone was staying an extra day and leaving Monday. I'm kinda thinking about it so I can go shopping in the city.

Thanks! :D
Patricia

The pet fees won't be quite that much as it is a one time fee for the booked stay - not a fee per night. This will help lots of us out!!!!!!
