| ![]() Yes, that does stink. That happens on my Sony too. But, I'm sure there's a setting that I don't know about that can fix that. hehehe

| ![]() As long as you buy at least 6 Mpix you are OK. Don't overspend just to get more, you won't notice a huge difference unless you are trying to take professional pics or enlargements. I have a Canon S3IS. I wanted a big camera with a big lens that could take pictures in low-light and has a big flash, but I didn't want the expense or learning curve of an SLR. The Canon S3 is the closest you can get without going SLR. I got it last December so the might have updated the model, but I'm sure whatever they replaced it with is good as well. My brother has the little credit card sizes Canon. It takes great pics outside and has a huge screen. I love that it fits in a pocket, but I would still choose mine for any posed shots. I still say no matter what, get a Canon.

Got a Canon Powershot A630 back in May. LOVE it! It's 8MP, 4x zoom, offers the opportunity for two additional interchangeable lenses, has FANTASTIC battery strength, has a rotatable 2.5-inch screen AND cost less than $200! (Also offers you the option of going totally manual which I like to do every once in a while.) I wanted a digital small enough to throw in a carry-on, yet not credit card size. Has a chunky grip (which is where the 4 AAs load). It also has video capabilities, but I've not even tried them yet. It can slip into a small purse, too, though I usually keep mine in the Crumpler case I bought for it. Really keeps it safe. Good luck in your search. I spent months looking and reading before I bought. | |

I went through the AA and AAA battery routine, not worth the aggravation. However, I would really like one that catches the picture right away b/c I also have tons of pictures of Monday and Friday walking away .... The cameras I now have are NOT expensive, the SONY is an older model, but works great! I have a SONY P-200 (Powered by Lithium-ion battery (NP-FR1); connects to PCs and Macs via USB 2.0) and an Olympus F-230 (which I got for free from my bank when I rolled over an IRA) ... cannot beat FREE!!!! The Olympus is so small I carry it with me all the time ... it has a 2.5 inch screen but NO viewfinder ... so far I have not missed the viewfinder ... The SONY has a 2 inch screen. Good luck ... and anyone who can find a digital camera that lets you snap 1-2-3 quickly, please let me know .... The first 2 pictures are the Olympus and the last 2 pictures are the SONY.

| ![]() I have the Kodak easy share P850 and I love it. There are several settings for sport, landscape, backlight, beach, snow...etc... It also has a terrific 12x optical zoom and you can push the button in and it zooms in even more. It has a video option, continuous shutter speed so you don't miss a shot, an automatic flash, ion battery with a quick charger and lots more. I've had mine for a couple of years now and I have had no problems...it takes great pictures. I think it was $499.00 at Best Buy...if I remember correctly! |
