PS: Or did I misunderstand your reply. I want to add that I mentioned being upset with this thread because of all the people getting scammed and the puppy mills. Last edited by Godislove; 08-26-2009 at 08:39 AM. Reason: PS | |

| I would like to make clear to all why I said I am upset from reading this thread. It's because of all the bad experiences so many of you have had. I wish you well. Patti |

| Wow I almost got a puppy from her I even emailed her and everything! Something just didn't seem right. I prayed for the right breeder and did lots of research! I am so glad that I did. Pixie is my lil Pearl and I love her and I am so glad that I found my Breeder in RI.

| New Member My Wife & I purchased a male yorkie from her over 3 years ago. I remember sitting on her couch & she brought out 5 dogs for us to look at. There was one particular dog that seemed more friendly then the others. I remember asking Denise about this dog & what the cost would be & she said"that one is a special dog & it will cost $2400.00. She refused to give us the papers because she did not want us to breed him. That was not our intention. This was a birthday gift for my wife so I did not make an issue about it. Well here it is over 3 years later & If I can give an estimate of the Vet bills due to my poor dog scratching & biting himself to shreds since it all began, I would say over $3500.00. We have been to VET, Dermatologist, Hollistic, Diet change, shampoos, creams Etc. I have no one to blame but myself for not doing more research before looking for a breeder. I had no idea she was a reseller. |

| Yours is an all too familar story. The claim of refusal to supply AKC papers because they don't want the puppy bred is a hollow argument. The AKC Limited Registration "http://www.akc.org/reg/limitedreg.cfm" offers limited registration to any AKC breeder that wants to prevent registration of any resulting offsprings in a registered litter. An astute, but not nesessarily an ethical pet supplier, will notice a potential customer's preference for a particular puppy and of course that one is "The Special One" that costs more than all the others. The reputable breeder has a price for pet quality males, females, and generally a higher price for Show Quality dogs of both sexes. Most reputable breeders don't want to sell outright, a show quality dog. They much prefer to come up with an agreement to co-own the dog until it has achieved Champoinship status. The breeder then has the pick of the litter from any resulting puppies and only then does complete ownership transfer. I know of many breeders that include a clause that states: if the dog is to change hands, the breeder has the right of first refusal. Quote:

Some people are only interested in the $'s and could care less about the grief they bring to these poor little babies and their families.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Bad yorkie seller warning Thanks for bumping this back up...we need to keep warning unsuspecting members because this is continuing on and on and buyers are victims of this unscrupulous person.

| ugh at the bottom of the home page on her website she now has links that say different states and cities so when you google those areas her website will come up.. I still also find it really weird she always has a liter available where most other reputable breeders have waiting list. she mentions "teacup" a lot, which we all know by now there is no such thing and the tinnier the yorkie the more health problems. and isn't she false advertising when on her website she states she is AKC registered but she there is no record of her being so. soo many things do not add up and i hope people see this site before going to her. | I'd be fooled Wow. After looking at her website and reading all the testimonials, I would definitely have been fooled by this breeder. This is so sad. I think a lot of people don't know what to look for when getting a Yorkie. I got lucky with my Charlie. I knew nothing and we ended up with such a lovely, sweet, healthy, cuddly little puppy. This should really be against the law. |

| Lots of people would be fooled. I stumbled on her website when I was looking for Teddy and it was just a little too perfect for my taste. There are many reputable yorkie breeders in New England listed on the YTCA website.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | This is a general statement - NEVER be fooled by a nice website. Anyone can say anything on the net. Trust your instincts and do your homework - don't take sites at face value - that applies to ALL websites. |
