| She is a little doll! How is she doing with the feeding? I had to syringe feed for over a month nonstop. I was convinced that he would always be fed by syringe lol. I found early what was wrong when I took him to the vet within 2 days of getting him, I found out he had kennel cough and that was the reason he was not eating. I didnt think anything was wrong with him because he rarely coughed. We ended up treating that for over a month also. Then out of nowhere he walked up to his tiny bowl and ate a little food all by himself. I stood back in shock and had tears in my eyes. Syringe feed and try to feed your furbaby out of your hand. I used to put tiny, tiny bits of soft food and he would lick it off once in a while.Eventually your furbaby will eat on her own. Genie |

She is very happy and healthy and she has a little belly so I think she is fine. Just wish I knew how much she should be eating. How much do 2lb. dogs eat? Is 2 or 3 tablespoons a day enough? Should I keep giving her nutri cal if she won't eat more?

I can't tell you how much a 2lb. dog should be fed, never had one that tiny. I would ask her breeder or your vet. Shelby is adorable. Jessica

thank you very much EVERYONE. I can't believe how fast the time goes. I have had Shelby 3 weeks today! wow. She is eating better, plays with her kibble in the morning then eats a few. I do the nutrical dip to get her to eat a few more. She free feeds kibble all day but doesn't eat much. I also give her Natural Balance chopped up a couple of times. She gobbles THAT down but I know the kibble is best for her teeth. I think she has gained 4 or 5 oz. Her body has changed, she is taller so she looks more like a dog instead of a chubby hamster She is very bright and funny and loveable. My husband is so funny, he wants to include her when we go out. Soooooo twice this week I stuck her in the purse and we ate dinner out! First time was fastfood takeout...we sat outside, but last night we took her into a burger place. She was a perfect ANGEL. Loves the purse and not a peep out of her. By the way...I wanted a small dog so we could include her. (I did NOT search for the dirty teacup word) We are on the verge of retiring so this is great. Just wanted to mention I do not consider her an accessory, I am so NOT that cool. She is our little precious baby girl that we never had and her two BIG human brothers love her. She will probably make it to 4 lbs?

| Oh Im so happy that she is eating better. I have done the sneaking in with Gucci also. Yesterday my kids and I went for a walk and some "shopping" and we took gucci with us. The wanted to eat McDonalad, so we had Gucci inside her back and she behave pretty good. A couple of times she tried to get out but I gave her some of her treats and she stop. Shelby is adorable and so cute. Once again congrats. |
