| What color will Hootie be? What color do you think Hootie will be? Her mother was black and dark beige and her dad was silver and gold. Here are 2 pictures of her at 6 months of age. Do you think she'll lighten up alot or stay black? |

| I think she'll stay darker. Usually if they're going to be light you'll see silver/white roots by now. She's adorable.

| My boy was dark until he was about 11 months old and then he turned a real light tan and silver. Some parts are even almost white now...he's almost 18 months. You just never know.

| Not real sure on what color later on, but Hootie sure looks beautiful right now. But my experience is Venus has so much silver on the top of her head already....just looks like I quit dying it black a few months ago, and roots are showing. Venus is 5 months old now. None of the rest of her is changing (so far, and looking for wood to knock on). |

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | When you lift up her coat do you see any lighter roots underneath? At only 11 weeks Stedman already had quite a bit of silver coming in on the top of his head...and when I lifted his coat (on his back) you could see lighter roots there as well...but only when you lifted it. Then almost instantly (I'm talking within a few weeks!) he got what we always called his "skunk stripe" going down the middle of his back. I KNEW the first time we had him groomed all his silver/blue would show and all the black would be gone. Sure enough, I was right At 5 months when we had him groomed for the 1st time ever (the groomer cut him WAY too short!!!) there was not ONE SPEC of black left on him! He was a darker silver/blue color on his body, a lighter silver on the top of his head, and chest...and his little legs have stayed a light tan color. I LOVE his coloring though, but I just prefer the lighter colored (although not TOO light) Yorkies P.S.- I attached a few pictures of him at 11 weeks (these were taken the very FIRST night we brought him home) and you can already see the large amount of silver that was coming in on the top of his head. I have some pictures of him at 4 and 1/2 months of age, with his "skunk stripe"...but I have taken them off of my computer and burned them onto a CD and it would take me AGES to find them! LOL But you can see in my avatar what color he is now. He will be 9 months in exactly 5 days

| I think Kona is a lot like Hootie. Kona is 8 months old and she is still has basically all black and tan hair. There are a few strands of whitish hair, but most of it is black and then tan on her face. Bernie who is almost 7 months old has a lot of silver color on his head.

| Buddy had that same coloring when he was younger. He started changing around 1yr old. He keeps getting lighter and lighter. His black is so faded now. I just hope his red stays. It is really hard to tell. She is beautiful. |

| When I lift up Hootie's hair to see the roots, there is no sign of silver. There may be some very dark charcoal colors emerging, but definately not silver. I have always wanted a black yorkie, and her mother was black, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she'll stay pretty dark. Of course, I'll love her no matter what color she is! |
