Yorkie Lover Donating Member | We have one for Magic and she LOVES it....anytime we go in the car she gets right in it!! She is able to sit up or lay down in it....it is the perfect size for her!! She does great on all our road trips, even the longest ones (5 hours)... I would defintely recommend one to all...they are perfect for you little ones and help to keep them secure and safe while in the car!!

| Ok, this is a dumb and off topic question. How did you get tiger to wear her harness? Also, how do you put it on? We have one for Suki and couldn't figure it out for the life of me---we gave up. She is only 14 weeks old so I'm sure she isn't too comfortable in her ways to get used to it. Does your harness have a thing on her back that you attach a leash to? Thanks! Gail p.s. as you can tell, I have never owned a pet, much less a dog before! This is almost as fun as raising a human baby! |

Tiger does not like to put his harness on too so whenever I need to, I have to bribe him with a good treat. I lure him with it otherwise he won't . . he always runs away. He is never on a harness at home but when we take him out I make sure he has it as all his ID tags are in it. Tiger is 19 weeks old and he's been wearing a harness since he was 10 weeks. I got it at walmart ($3.00 something) and I love it. You can find harness that is more like a wrap around with a velcro opening but they are very pricey (at the store where I found them) so am waiting until he is full grown so he won't outgrow such an expensive one. In the meantime, I am very happy with the one he has right now. And yes, there is a place at the back where you attach the leash. Like you, this is my first time also to own a dog and I tell you they are demanding of your time . . . I just love Tiger to death that I'll do anything . . . . | |

There are 2 circles of mesh material that make up the harness, one that does not open up and one - a bigger circle that had a snap latch - which does open and close. Also, there is a little silver ring on the larger circle. That is for the leash and it goes in the center of the back, just down a little bit (toward the tail) from the shoulder blades. Unlatch the snap latch. Put the part of the harness with the silver ring over his head first and then put the smaller circle of the harness over his head - you may have to adjust that circle smaller (or larger, but usually smaller for our little babies). Then put his left leg between the larger circle (which is still unlatched, so not really a circle at this point) and the smaller circle which in now around his neck. Then take the end of the latch and bring it behind his other leg and snap it to the other end. Now you should have the smaller circle of the harness around the neck (it extends down on the chest in the front, rather than around the neck) and the larger circle should be around the chest. Always keep the silver ring for the leash in the middle of the back while you are putting the harness on, and you can't go wrong. You will probably have to adjust the part of the harness that goes around his chest smaller too. These instructions are probably as clear as mud!
