| Concerned Dear Readers, I have been communicating, online, with 2 breeders I found that say they are local Montana AKC and Licensed. When I get to the point to where I request to come see the pups in person, and to meet the parents and all the sudden the Breeder stops communication. Am I being unreasonable in asking to meet my future Baby Girl? Need Help!!! Momma to Fiture Sophie |

| You are absolutely NOT being unreasonable. If they don't want you to see your babies ahead of time you should run as fast as you can away from these people. They probably want you to pay ahead of time. THIS SOUNDS LIKE A SCAM. Every reputable breeder will want you to meet the puppies first. I know it is hard but I would start your search again. There are many people on this board who can advise you where to start. Your Sophie is waiting for you but not with these people.

I really don't see any reason not to be able to show the puppies. Also, if they insist on meeting you somewhere else to show you the puppies, I'd say that's another red flag. Last edited by Magnus; 08-06-2015 at 06:59 PM.

If it looks like a skunk and smells like a skunk, it's a skunk. Too many ruthless, scheming, heartless, money grubbing people.....oops my attitude is showing.

| Many breeders will not allow puppies to be viewed, handled by the public before puppies get their first vaccine. yorkiemom1 had a very bad case of Parvo infect her home while she had a litter or two. Just food for thought, it "could" be just for safety measures. My first thoughts also were "If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck" then I remembered yorkiemom1 post of her parvo catastrophe.

| Agree with all the others! Another issue that comes up in this tough situation is if the parents they show you, are really the parents! It is so important to find very reputable breeders so you can have confidence in your new acquisition. Being referred by another reputable breeder ( or two) is the safest bet. All of us on YT have heard the horror stories and it is so easy to fall in love with the first darling, cute Yorkie you see. Tough job, but be assured that the diligent search is so worth it in the long run! Have you checked out the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America breeders web site?

| First I Would Like to Thank all of You!!! I really appreciate all of you taking the time to respond so quickly. I was feeling really uneasy and unsure of myself. Although I am anxious to have a new puppy, I don't really want to go through the heartbreak either. If anyone has any information about reputable breeders near Montana, I would really be grateful. I have been searching for weeks and I have run into dead-ends. All the breeders I have come across, except one have asked for deposits upfront with just photos of the pups and the pup would be shipped by airline ect. I went to the AKC website and the 1 of the 2 breeders I found in Montana is the one that hasn't gotten back with me. The one that might be lagit doesn't have any pups at this time, or Yorkies in heat. Hope some one can help, I will continue searching for my baby girl and try to not to get anxious. Signed, Grateful, future Momma to Little Miss Sophie |

| I will go see Yorkshire Terriers Club of America Breeders to see if I've been their. I've been on so many sites, I don't remember names, but I will recognize it if I see it again. Thanks for the tip Cali. Future Momma to Sophie |

| I Finally have an Appointment Thursday To everyone who have been so helpful in my search, I have made a contact near my home that is willing to let my husband and I come and see two female Yorkie Puppies this Thursday. She sent pictures and gave me her address and phone number. She also has a Facebook page. I am so excited and I hope everything goes well. Future Momma to Little Sophie |

| What wonderful news, you must be sooo excited, when you go, look around the area where the pup is, see if the living conditions are clean, make sure you get to see the momma and dad,. See what health guarantee the breeder is offering. I hope more knowledgeable members can advise you what to look for in the health guarantee. hope all goes well.
