| If the breeder knows without a doubt that the grandmother is a mix, then of course this pup would be a mix as well. If they don't know for sure...it's a toss up. Get the DNA test if you really want to know, otherwise just love her cuteness and she'll love you back ten fold.

| There are a couple of things you should consider before investing in the MARS Wisdom Panel test. First, the Jack Russell is not on their Breeds Detected list in the UK. The Parsons Russell is listed but I don't know how that will affect the results and introduces another entire list of questions. Second, if all the parents and grandparents of your dog appeared as Yorkie then it is almost certain your results will be Yorkshire Terrier. If there is any chance it is a Biewer Terrier then you can only do a blood test and not the cheek swab which is the more expensive test and your vet will have to do the collection. I normally support the MARS test to determine breeds but in your case it may be a waste of money. Your dog is really cute in the pictures. If you do not plan on breeding her then I would skip the expense. |

For this purpose I will agree the Parson and Jack Russell are the same dog. I would still not recommend the MARS test for this situation. Two generations of this pedigree did not express white or any appearance different from a Yorkie. Unless she wants to breed the dog or the dog has health issue concerns I see no need in spending the money to find out what she already knows. I only support the MARS test for rescue and shelter dogs where no or limited information is available. I based this on years of researching MARS products and speaking with their UK and USA staff. If Hanleum's adorable dog is a cross between a Yorkie and Parson Russell terrier then I believe investing in agility equipment and activities to keep the dog busy would be a better investment. That is going to be an active, intelligent, curious dog and from the pictures it will not be afraid of anything. | |

| I didnt get any notificatins for all these replies! No I wont breed her because my dane x is a rescue dog and anyone familiar with rescue dogs will agree.. theres too many x breeds out there although not toy sized why breed a non pedigree when theres so many out there sat in homing centres. I just really wanted to satisfy my own curiosity because to me she is identical to a tri coloured yorkie a biewer if you like. If it was not for the vet changing the breed I registered her as I would not of asked. mother father, grandmother and grandfather all looked black and tan normal yorkie but as I said grandmother was sold as a x with a JRt. Interesting on findings with your opinions on JRT and dna... Maybe I will have to wait! as an adult will we be better able to see a x or not? |

| Well...she certainly is cute!! I would think that she would be one little ball of energy if she was a jack/yorkie cross. I am sure she will offer you lots of entertainment as both breeds are full of personality! |
