They've certainly got the message right! I agree. GO AWAY RITA! I hope you stay safe. I have relatives in Orange and north of Houston and east TX, so I'm worrying about them, too.

Those girls can change the course of any hurricane with their powers united. I loved the pic they look so sweet and they really look like they are trying to get their point across.

I can't believe you are staying down there. UH was evacuated, and seeing as how I live on campus, I had to head home to Waco. But now I'm kind of freaked out, even being 4 hours from the coast. Baylor cancelled Friday classes because of Rita. Looks like it's going to be pretty bad up here also. Good luck and let us know that you made it through ok. Freeze lots of water now to keep cool during the first few hours of the power outage. Good luck!

Here's wishing you and anyone in the hurricanes path to be safe! I feel so bad for anyone having to deal with all of this! I have family in New Orleans and I wonder if they'll get hit again too! I'm praying for this hurricane to lose all of it's pizzaz!

THANK YOU and I am really sick today hoping we are far enough - we're 70 miles inland ....since my parents and many friends are staying also ....we have to just hope and pray we will get through this....Thank you everyone - today I'm really realizing how scared I'm going to be tommorrow

Villette, only you know your situation there and what is best for you and
your husband but give some thought to at least leaving by tomorrow
afternoon and sleeping in the car one night (people can't get hotel rooms
anyway and there will be alot of that ) by Sat. morning you will have a
better handle on the storm. The mayor of Galveston said this morning
that even though it has headed a little east; this storm is so huge, texas
is bound to be hit hard. Stay safe and only you will know the best thing
to do. Prayers go along with all of you in the storms way!!

Seriously V, you need to have a generator for more than oxygen, we need our daily dose of spy girls.

Sylvan - leave it to you to make me smile - and Joan thank you - TODAY they are recommending those of us in designated area to 'Shelter in Place' - which is very good to hear because that means they think we will have a bad time of it ....but we're NOT under mandatory evacuation ....much as I would love to leave....
