| Hello again; Remember, all Yorkshire Terriers are from the original Base of genes, whether they are from Traditional Colors or "Parti", Golds, Reds, Chocolates... Here is the catch; When you breed for just a color or a specific trait, then you are re-building a line of genes that will indeed be bringing both Dominants and Recessives alike! So, what you need to be looking for in a "Parti" or different color, are the most Dominant characteristics you can find in the Dog examples you are choosing for your Foundation Stock.... Thus, Strong Bones, are a Must! Topline straightness, and SIZE the biggest contraversy in this Breed!!! If you do not take the Size issue to heart, the recessive genes that will come out in the Less than the Standard Size Yorkies will be horrific! That is why if you are going to breed Partis, it is imperative you start with the Larger Size dogs!!! Otherwise, going directly to breed for the "Teacup" size will be a dangerous equation indeed!!!! You will see all kinds of disease and temperament issues that will ROCK THE CHARTS! We have had over 40 years of breeding experience with different kinds of dogs, both small and large, and have participated with "Select" genetic breeds before.....it is really no different. So, if you want to do it right and keep Healthy Happy Yorkies, be Ethical about your choices! Partis, Golds, Chocolates, etc, all have their place in the "Genetic Selection" Process.....but Buyer Beware! If you do not get Sound Dogs, you will be sorry you ever got one at all!!! Breeders Be Wise with your choices, it will come around to Bite you later if you do not choose the "Right Kind of Genetics"! Any further discussions with us directly, email private or call: (859) 361-7812 |
