The vet was patting me on the back like I was an elderly woman who lost her way home ...and I was hanging on news of Max the other day myself for you...waiting for them to PICK up the phone for you !You'd think after ALL the reading and talking about this - we'd be braver Nope...turned into one big sobbing grown woman...BUT - I was proud of myself for one thing - Cheri didn't see me crying - I'd like to say to ANYONE who is getting near this time with their baby - IT'S NOT as bad as what goes thru our minds - It really isn't ...by the time you get home and be busy trying not to think about it - the operation is over ....Our minds really latch on to being worried - You'll breath a BIG sigh of relief when they tell you everything went well...then you wait.....and time WILL drag out - but it's a huge relief to have it over with....So good luck to anyone facing this - You'll get LOTS of positive support if you come talk ! Thank you everyone - you REALLY REALLY helped with this morning ...I wasn't going to post but I'm so GLAD I did....Thank you ! | |

| The day my Codie was scheduled to have his luxated patella fixed, there was a real emergency. Someone brought a bunch of dog's in that were abused and they needed IMMEDIATE surgery. So my Codie was not operated on until 8 PM THAT NIGHT!!! I was a lunatic! I was totally freakin out because the waiting is the worst part! But I'm so glad our little Cheri is all finished and feeling great!!

| What a supportive forum we have! No where else could we get the compassion that these members show everyday! I am so proud to be a member of YT! This is when the BEST comes out! You are all so awesome. V~ Cheri will be fine because you knew all the right things to do to prepare for this day and she will be home before you know it and back at her spy games with Chanel in a couple of days.I too am dreading Chai and Ava's surgeries and will hope to learn from everyone here and from you about how to have the best experience possible under the circumstances. |

| I missed this thread somehow. Just wanted to say hope she is home soon with her mommy and recovers quickly. I too had to leave Chloe at the vet all day last week. I couldn't even post it because I was a worried mess in TEARS! They do fine, we don't. |

| Sorry if this gets put on in several places, I'm still new and not sure what I'm doing. My 2 pound 5 ounce Mini is being spayed tomorrow. I am pretty anxious about the surgery but her vet has successfully operated on a goldfish and many small animals. So, maybe she'll be fine. Everyone please keep Mini in your thoughts and prayers. I love this forum. I've learned so much from all of you. Nan |

| My darling cat Penny was spayed 3 years ago at about this time.....and I went through it like it was routine. I mean I missed and was concerned for her, but I didn't wasn't a crying worrywart like I was with Sully! And trust me, I love my babygirl. But when SULLY was neutered a few months ago, I worried, cried and felt this horrible guilt for it! I figured it was because I was taking his "manhood" away LOL. But it got to my heart more! I am glad, though, that I have experienced this b/c I know that I will feel bad the next time I have to go through such an experience but still....I know that like you said, Villette, the worst part of it all is what goes on in our minds. Now that I recognize that, operations will go more smoothly in the future (I hope!) Glad Cheri is home and resting! Sully sends his kisses! (And lots to Chanel too ooh baby!)

| Villette, I know you've had a tough day! I'm sorry! You'll have to give Cheri extra snuggles tonight. I know what you mean about "that look". OMG they know how to work us don't they? I've loved your descriptions of your experience. The one of the vet patting you on the back is priceless! Thanks for makin' me smile. Keep us posted!

| Don't worry Villette, no doubt that Cheri has charmed everyone in that place and has them all wrapped around her little paw. In no time she will be back in your yard with her cute little face pressed up against her place at the fence and all will be back to normal. |
