| Hi and welcome to YT. I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my little girl (Lily) almost two months ago, and it still hurts. I have a little boy yorkie, and my husband and I decided to get another boy, which we will get in October. I know how you feel. At first, when my husband asked me if I wanted another one, I said no. I felt like getting another one would be betraying Lily, just like you're feeling. But, I have had alot of support from people here who have said that I would not be betraying Lily. I'm not trying to replace her, that's not possible. I do think our babies (Nikki and Lily) would want us to go on with life and be happy. We were their caretakers, we loved them and took care of them in the best way possible, they knew that they were loved and they gave us love in return. They wouldn't want us sitting around being sad. They would want us to be happy. They know we still love them and always will. If you ever need to talk, just PM me. Congratulations on your new baby!

| I've Decided To Name Her Kelly! Thank you ALL for your support and your help with the names. I am going to name her Kelly. She is coming tommorow at 7 pm, I can't wait. I purchased her from Glenda Beavers at TSA-LA-GI, her website is www.showdogs@hughes.net. She has beautifull healthy puppies. She is very willing to talk to you at length and answer any questions about her little yorkie boys and girls. I looked her up and Googled her, she checks out. She has many show dogs that have won awards and her puppies are AKC. I feel very confident purchasing a puppy from her. The pic in my first post here is her, she is inside a bucket. Thank YOU ALL!!! |

| I am so sorry about your loss. I lost my male schnauzer in May and still can't talk about him without crying. We had decided against another dog too for awhile because I have 2 female mini's. But, we got our little girl (yorkie) 2 weeks ago and I can tell you it has helped so much. I do not feel like I am replacing the one we lost but it has helped so much to keep my mind occupied taking care of her and not just sitting and mourning constantly. I know how much it hurts, but this little one is going to really help you so much. Good luck |

| Sorr about your loss Ahhh, I know how you feel. My Maltese (Anima) just died the other day. I had to have her put to sleep. She was 13. She was my second Maltese. She had to take medication, and the doctor was sure she had cushings disease. The doctor ask me in the spring if I wanted to put her to sleep then, but I wanted to give her the summer. She just loved sun bathing on the patio. It was getting so she just would not get out of her basket. Anyway, I knew I did not want to have just one dog, and started to prepare my children for her loss. My son took it really hard. They stayed home today to Mourn her passing. Saturday we are getting our Yorkie (Gucci). My husband and I already went to pick her out. I too feel your pain. Like someone else said before...Our furbabies loved us, and would want us to be happy. Babies bring new joy, and a new personality to deal with. Mostly magical time. We have happy memories of our furbabies. Nothing can ever take that from us. Hang in there. You new baby is adorable. I also like the name. Good luck! |

Thank you, I am also sorry to hear about your loss too. We got our little furbaby, Nina, and it's taken time for us to adjust to Nikki being gone. We'll never forget her and sometimes we will call Nina- "Nikki". I have to say we felt as if she was being replaced and felt guilty but we know that we didn't and our precious NINA has filled a huge void that Nikki left. My oldest son didn't want to see Nina when we got her and it took him a couple of days to come around. He now comes froms school and goes directly to her and plays with her. I do know that she is in a better place no longer suffering. Thank you ALL from the bottom of my heart. Ines Last edited by Ines3185lyorkie; 09-20-2007 at 03:29 AM. | |
