| Today is aweek that my little NIKKI passed on In memory of my little NIKKI today is a week that she passed on. (That is her on the pic on the left). She was a year and 1 month. I know that she will be in heaven. I do miss her, so much. She was gone too soon. I have all her pictures and had to take them off the frames my boys and husband can't bear to look at them. Maybe with time I can put her picture up. Love you and miss you my sweet little girl. Not to replace her (she can't be replaced) I purchased another little girl which I will get tommorow. While I may joyous I can't help to feel like I am betraying her. I can't think of a name for my little one. I mentioned Nikki as a name and my family vetoed it. It' bittersweet getting the new one. I know we will NEVER forget her. Any suggestions from anyone who's been through this situation it would be appreciated. our yorkie sold.jpg Here is a pic of the little girl I am getting tommorow. Donating YT 30K Club Member | Welcome. So sorry for yor loss. I have gotten a new puppy within a week of losing one 2 times. It definatley helps ease the pain but there are times when I would say "but your not Gracie or Zorro" but that does pass and you just realize that they each have their own little personalities and you love them each for themselves. I know the feeling I cannot look at pics for awhile after one of mine passes. Congrats on your new baby ans she will definatley help you as you grieve. To post -hit go advanced and hit manage attachments and download your resized pics and then submit. If you need help resizing let me know.

| I'm so sorry about Nikki I lost my girl Starr last October and I still miss her so much My husband insisted on getting a new pup right away, if you search on my username you can find the whole story behind that. It really did help me so much, though I wanted to wait to get another dog, if ever. We now have two girls. I have to agree with your family veto of the name, though, sorry to say This girl deserves her own identity, she's not Nikki, but she'll certainly help heal your heart. Perhaps the name Hope might be appropriate? She sure is adorable, and your Nikki was absolutely beautiful. RIP little girl

| I am sorry about your loss of Nikki. I totally understand what you are feeling about getting your new puppy. My Yorkie Zack died in May (also at a very young age - a little less than 2) and I was devastated. Initially, I could not even think about getting a new puppy, but over time I really wanted one. For reasons not worht getting into, we decided against another Yorkie and got a yellow lab. Although I love her, I still miss Zack tremendously. I feel guilty at times for getting a new puppy, but Zack was alaways such a happy puppy, I am sure he would not be upset at me. When I take Yoyo for walks, I always tell her about her big brother Zack and how much she would have loved to play wiht him. And, I still tlak to Zack about his new sister Yoyo, and how much I miss him. So, I have not gotten over the guilt of betrayal you mention, but as time passes, it gets a little bit less. Nikki would want you to be happy. Just remember that. At least that is how I deal with these feelings of guilt. -Allan |

| It's nice to hear that it helped you through loss. I know she will help us too. I guess in my mind naming her Nikki would almost mean that she never left us. I know you are right, this little girls deserves her own identity. Our emotions are still very raw. Your darlings are too sweet. Thank you and enjoy them. |

| So sorry for your loss. Enjoy your new baby. I don't think you are betraying Nikki, I don't think life would be worth living without pets, especially Yorkies. After joining Yt I have found that I love the "soft names" for girls, like Sophie, Rosie, Lily etc.

| I am so sorry for you loss. You will never be betraying Nikki. Yorkie mommy's and daddy's are known for having really big hearts. It because of that, that we have so much room for each little furbaby to have it's own special spot that will be their's forever. Why don't you wait until you have your little girl in your arms - her name will come to you as she looks at you with her big puppy eyes. Enjoy your new little girl.
