YorkieTalk Newbie! | Missing our dear little guy. Our dear little Axl died in our arms 6 weeks ago - congestive heart failure at 13 years old. People cannot understand our grief. Everyone says "Just get another one!" Now, I am able to at least think about it, but I really just want him. Is it fair to another dog if we are really just wanting him back? What are other's experiences and how can we tell if it is "time" to get another one? Our hearts are broken. |

| So very hard.....my precious little Bumper died in my arms a year ago, from heart failure.....my heart still aches for him.....you never "get over them"....the jagged edges of the pain you feel do seem to soften, finally, it doesnt "catch your breath" when you think of them.....but you never forget them. And when you feel like your heart has healed enough to bring in a new little fella, when you get that craving, that yearning, to wake up each morning with a baby to start your day with you, then you will know you are ready to move on....NEVER forgetting little Axl, never with the intent of replacing the precious little soul, just willing and wanting to allow another little piece of your heart to be staked out by a new little angel, who is totally devoted to you and desperately wanting to be your "new little boy".... | I'm so very sorry for your loss of Dear Axl. There are no replacements... Yorkies are the same enough to tell they are Yorkies, but different individually that no two are alike. When my Sopie passed, the only thing that stopped my pain was when I found another Yorkie friend to love...

| I'm so sorry for your loss. Rest in Peace, Axl. It's hard to know when it's the right time to get another dog. My Sammy is gone almost 10 months and I go back and forth, I want another yorkie, am I being disloyal to Sammy if I get another dog. I just don't know. You will know in your heart when it's the right time. My friend told me that one day I'll find another dog or he'll find me and I'll know that it's the right time. Good luck to you. |

♥Trained by my pups♥ Donating YT 500 Club Member | I think each person is different. After I lost my Boji I went a month of being so miserable. Dh said no we do not need another. I was so miserable. I missed him so badly. I think dh did not want this sadness again he was devastated also. We got another and it was just what we needed. I love Boji and have great memories that will never go away. But the joy a new pup or dog brings in is so worth it. I always say Boji look what you started as I went with a different bred. And I love her dearly she was not a yorkie. So now we have three in the house two yorkies and a cairn. And I can not tell you the joy they all bring. They have dh and I very well trained. So sorry for your loss. And I believe you will know when it's time. Myself I have learned I will never be without a dog as long as I am able to care for one. Again sending hugs for you all.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I am sorry for your loss. I found for me that getting a puppy soon after a loss helped me heal. I did feel guilty at times but the joy from the new puppy kept me busy.

| When we lost our Alex, a few years back, I fell into a very deep depression, both my DH and I had said no more dogs, well to make a long story short, I was able to find my Gio through this group, and the depression lifted. No meds, nothing but a new pup. We will always love our Alex, and Gio is not a replacement, but he is loved as much. PLUS, we got him a little sister, who is Gio's half sister. What joy they have brought into our lives. Highly recommend getting a new pup. Keep us posted and good luck

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I am so sorry for your loss, and no unless you are a real pet lover, i don't think people understand the grief and pain that loosing a beloved pet, causes the loving human. but I tell this to all my people, he will always be in your heart, he enjoy a loving full life and he does not want to see your arms empty, in due time when your heart heals a bit, give another pet the love and devotion you gave him.. hugs, |

YorkieTalk Newbie! | Thank you all! I hear the love in all your replies- thank you all so much. I appreciate your sincere understanding and wise advice. My arms ache for our Axl and his memory brings laughter along with the tears - such a loving funny little guy! I know I will find a different little one to share our lives with someday. Or as you have said- they will find us! In the meantime, I will enjoy all your photos and stories until the day I can share new stories with you. thank you so much. |

| I lost one of my little girls to congestive heart failure, and I was devastated. I am so very sorry. I understand why your heart is breaking so much. Each little one is so different, and they are all so special. It is because you love Bumper so much that you want to have another baby to love. You won't ever replace your little guy, but it doesn't mean you won't fall head over heels in love with another baby. I lost my last little girl in June almost two years ago. Ashley was a month shy of seventeen, and it was a great loss to us. A close friend of mine, who understood what losing our baby meant to us, sent us this video. It really helped me, and I hope it helps you. I am so sorry for your loss. As you've already discovered, love lasts forever.

| Axl will always hold a special place in your heart and no other will ever take that place. When your ready I'm sure a new baby will also hold a special place in your heart. When Heidi left me I felt like my heart had been ripped out of my chest but I had three other little girls that helped me cope with losing her and I love them all. It was 2 months after losing Heidi that I found someone with a blind 7 week old maltese puppy that needed a home so I took her and I don't regret it at all. |
