I think each person is different. After I lost my Boji I went a month of being so miserable. Dh said no we do not need another. I was so miserable. I missed him so badly. I think dh did not want this sadness again he was devastated also. We got another and it was just what we needed. I love Boji and have great memories that will never go away. But the joy a new pup or dog brings in is so worth it. I always say Boji look what you started as I went with a different bred. And I love her dearly she was not a yorkie. So now we have three in the house two yorkies and a cairn. And I can not tell you the joy they all bring. They have dh and I very well trained.

So sorry for your loss. And I believe you will know when it's time. Myself I have learned I will never be without a dog as long as I am able to care for one. Again sending hugs for you all.
